Katawa Shoujo: So I return to the Lily route, and take a train to Hokkaido with her and Hanako. We get to stay in a nice little house, and my god, I really like Hisao's writing in the next three scenes because oh my lord, he's got this level of snark that's been missing up until this point. His interactions with Lily and Hanako are nice, though I still prefer Hanako over Lily. God, Hanako is so precious. When Hisao is dealing with a heart flutter, she notices and she cares. Sure, Lily is pretty and she's nice, but she's more of a mentor or a tour guide to me rather than a romantic option.

Katawa Shoujo: So I find Lily in a cornfield and she confesses her love to me. I enjoyed our last day in Hokkaido, and oh my god, Hanako is such a sweetheart. She accepted Lily's confession to Hisao, and was happy for their nascent relationship. If this is what Hanako is like, I can't wait to play on her route once I've unlocked everything in Lily's route. After the bathtub sex scene (in which I see melons because I had the sex scenes disabled), Hanako, Lily and I are on the midnight train back to Yamaku Academy. Hanako is adorbable when she sleeps, and I initally choose to talk about her before deciding that talking about school instead might put me on route to the neutral ending instead.
After that, exams, avoiding Misha and Shizune then more talking with Lily before going to a party with her and Akira.

I'm not sure if I'm enjoying this more now because Lily's route gets far better once the story reaches Hokkaido or because I'm finally in the right mindset to properly enjoy Katawa Shoujo.

Without cheats, I'm never going on anything but the easiest difficulty settings.

I take it that you adapted to the card system far better than I did.

To be fair, she has finished the GBA version quite a few times, so she is certainly accustomed to it.

I've yet to play the GBA version, though it'll be interesting to see how different it is compared to the PS2 version.

Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories: I went to Agrabah because I remember that in Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, Genie Jafar was an absolute joke. Enemies are tougher, though fortunately I was able to trade in my Moogle Points for some better keyblade cards, learned that the Sleights don't require all 3 cards to have the exact same number to activate them, and also bought some healing items. while also getting rid of some old cards for more points. After that, the area was a rather nice breather.

The fight with Genie Jafar is slightly more challenging than in KH:FM (his laser attack is his most threatening move), and I had more trouble with the camera (why did it have to mapped to the right analog stick instead of the L1/L2 buttons like in the main games?) than most of the actual boss fight. At least his boss card will prove to be useful for later boss fights. After leaving Agrabah, I expect a fight with another Organization XIII member, and after Jiminy Cricket's journal is gone, I figure it'd be the one with the books (I forgot that he was called Zexion at that time).

It seems of course that fight hasn't arrived yet, and I've already decided to either go to Olympus Coliseum or Halloween Town (since the plot seems to be building that area up as important).

… some Sleights… do require three of same…

I only learnt yesterday that a lot of cards (e.g Friend Cards or Magic cards) do require three of the same cards. Of course it'll be a matter of time to figure out if I'll have any use for those ones in particular.
