Games Progress
Katawa Shoujo: Finished up, got Hanako and Lily a gift each from the antique shop and eventually take Lily home. Then there's a small party for Hanako's birthday. There's a knock at the door and I expect it to be either Shizune or Kenji but thankfully it's Akira. Akira has bought alcohol for us before she left to go back to work. Everyone gets drunk. Hanako falls asleep, leaving Lily and I to have a heart to heart moment. Morning falls, Lily reveals that she's leaving to see her parents then it's back to class where I'm being woken by Misha and Shizune in class.

Decided to play Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow. I decided to go around a few planets, went back to the Element Ruins to gain some Light Stones to upgrade one of my weapons. Tried a few times against Arcane Dragon and lost.

Huh. That's two games where the final roadblock is a powerful superboss who can kick my ass even at my strongest.

You're thinking of Omega Dragon, who is the last of three bosses on New World. Arcane Dragon is only unlocked after you beat every door boss and all 3 bosses on New World.

Games Progress
Katawa Shoujo: I realized that Katawa Shoujo is far more user friendly that I intially gave it credit for. It turns out I can play the game in windowed mode rather than fullscreen and I can change music volume on the fly so I don't constantly have to quit the game if I want to do something else.
All that aside, Hisao is woken by Shizune and Misha and is forgiven with force while also getting a letter from Iwanako. After this, I leave class and see Hanako (how precious :3) who gives me a shopping list. Then I go off to meet Lily, and we go to town to go shopping before coming back to Yamuku Academy.

Games Progress
Katawa Shoujo: Talked to Lily and chose not to talk about Hisao's condition (I'll be picking the other option eventually). I came back, gave Hanako the groceries she left and then go to bed. I wake up, expected death but it was actually results for an English exam. Hanako shows up and then so does Emi, they talk for a bit and that's nice because they're my favourite out of the girls you can pick in Katawa Shoujo. Also Hisao and Emi take the same English class and both hate English, so that's interesting. The next scene has Rin, Emi, Lily and Hanako arrange to meet up on the rooftop for lunch, though I've yet to progress any further.

Games Progress
Umbrageous Light: I decided to for whatever reason play Umbrageous Light. I assume that it's early in development so I'll play it through just to see how far along it is. I had initially thought the first area was just First Cave from vanilla Cave Story at first but the subtle changes have made for an interesting playthrough.

I died several times in the room after I defeated the Accursed (and it took several attempts before I cottoned on and realized I could backtrack to the save point so I wouldn't have to repeat the boss fight). I also like the custom name boxes underneath the text boxes and will have to consider trying that out for myself. Also the title screen has several other options but I'm not sure if they're actual options or if they simply exist for show.

Katawa Shoujo: I end up having lunch on the roof with Emi, Rin, Lily and Hanako. Hanako was initially absent but showed up later (I had expected Shizune to show up to ruin our fun). Emi and Hisao have bad English scores but Lily got a perfect score. Also Hisao ends up suffering from Arrythmia but thankfully avoids getting a heart attack. (Also it's nice that Hanako cared enough to consider getting the nurse for Hisao even if Hisao said that he was fine.) At the end of the scene, Lily announces that she's leaving for Scotland and after the other girls leave, she makes a paper crane for Hisao. Yes, Lily can learn origami but that only makes her slightly less boring.

1. Very early. After the Accursed boss, I don't think there's a lot of stuff?
2. Yeah, I wanted the first room of Origin Cave to have a little bit of familiarity… at first.

Plus the name's meaningful: the XSP began as mods of Cave Story, after all, so it made sense--
3. The custom name boxes was done using the TIMG hack, which requires the TSC+ hack. The mod also uses the PHYS hack. The "Timg" files in "Umbrageous Light/data" are the name boxes, but you could, say, use full character art or area maps for that.
4. The title screen options are just for show, sowwy ;-;
I'm guessing you didn't really go through the Readme file. ^.^"

After the Accursed, there is a weapon that can be found to break blocks. and a terminal that needs to be activated to unlock the teleporter. Dying in this area is a pain unless I backtrack all the way to the save point. At least laying waste to my enemies with fully levelled up weapons is fun at least. At this point, the only thing I'd really change about Origin Cave is the colour and I think Sepia or Beige would work for that area. As for the ReadMe file, yeah, that's true. It didn't cross my mind at all until you mentioned it.

Maybe the non-DataVerse Origin Cave could be a different colour, though?

Oh yeah. Umbrageous Light takes place in the Nihil Server, which is data themed. I checked the wiki, remembered that Sea Zone is one of the areas and that it exists outside of the Dataverse as well. That said,Origin Cave (non-Dataverse) could be sepia/beige, though I wonder if there would be any other differences as well.

Games Progress
Katawa Shoujo: Class ends. Hanako and I go to see Lily who as it turns out is quite popular with her class. Kenji is mentioned but not actually seen because he, Lily and Hanako are in the same class, and Hanako deals quite well with other students liking her as much as they do Lily. Eventually, we get to see Akira and Hideaki at the airport where we see Lilly off. Akira mentions buying tickets online, which considering the games release date has aged quite well (or at least better than Misha's Bush Cheney 2004 shirt). I think to myself, that it's going to be the Hanako route now that Lily is in Scotland. Unless of course there is a timeskip. Then it turns out I'm on Act 3 of Lily's route.
