Discuss the guides and walkthroughs in general here. Please, for the love of kittens and Nyanyens and other felines, I beseech you, I beg you: don't derail this thread.

Right now, the list's as empty as a Street Fighter game without any fighters (or civilians). I'll get to work on the list later, if my monitor allows it.

Is there anyone working on a guide?

When she visited us the past weekend, Kim said someone is working on a guide... someone from the Cave Story Tribute Site forums? Could somebody please inquire as to this matter?

Also, WHERE ARE ALL THE ACIDIC BUBBLES AND ARCANUMS AND LIFE CAPSULES? D:<

She says someone (not sure who) was going to work on one, but her monitor ceased working at the worst possible moment... so she doesn't know if they have important questions or not. Her phone won't let her see threads or conversations -.-

GUIDES WE NEED:
- Normal mode
- 3-HP mode
- Weapons & inventory
- Enemies and bosses, and characters

There might be more~ :3

I might make one eventually, but I'm still stumbling through 3HP mode myself -- I almost won once, but then my savefile got ruined by a bug. (Beating Ataraxis opens the path to the Confusion Zone, but there's a barrier in the way and it locks behind you so if you save there, you're screwed).


I'm on my way back now, just beat Valkyrie on my new savefile.

If you beat Aidan/Tranquility and escaped the castle (with a new "map" at the final screen and a color-changing gravestone), then I think it counts as winning :3

If Serenity becomes evil? Bad ending :(

If the Purple Karjam is summoned? THE WORST ENDING EVER O.o

Yeah, Serenity became evil. Poor Ilina :(


I don't think I could possibly beat the castle master without getting hit, even with Ilina's help and even after being perplexed by the Confusion Zone into seeing a life capsule when I shouldn't.

I shall dare to investigate this along with the other bugs that have been encountered. (By far, Azehr is the most glitch-infested boss ever, though.)

I think there could be another bad ending Kim could add: Castle Master Serenity. She kills Aidan then becomes the Castle Master in his place.

Also if PK were to be summoned, he'd probably take over Serenth and then assimilate it into the Karjamian Domain.

2. Use this thread for replies regarding the racial ID thread; it is (kind of) a guide to all that. :P
3. I'll post what I can, but since mobile mode has so many limitations, the racial ID thread will be locked. (If I edit a large post, most contents would be lost, for one thing.)

6700 to 6800 are reserved for, well, giants of some sort. From 0 eyes to 100 eyes.

I'll stop here, until my phone's battery is ready for more.

Edit: done, and done. * puts away carving knife *

All known racial IDs, added.
(Those will NOT change, however, without Kim's approval. So those are kinda set in stone and all.)

I am a huge fan of Nymphs so yes approved.
One of my most played characters in an RP is a Dryad and she's a real sweet bean and all the other RPers love her so I'm pretty proud of that.

Considering that getting walkthroughs requires people to play the game, wouldn't it be easier to have some sort of Debug function or a New Game + so that you can get to various parts quickly? For example, it's really easy to miss the Tears Ending because most people aren't likely to deliberately kill themselves during Valkyrie's second form.

Could try. For now, Ultimate Doukutsu Trainer. (Used that for sequence-breaking during testing. Level 3 weapons forever helps.)

New races exist... IDs not available due to (what else?) unusable PC. But ID codes do exist for them.

Blood Valkyries: bloodthirsty mutation of Valkyries whose wings must be fully covered in blood to mutate. Some Taints negate this mutation (which, cannot recall). Most cases had Bloodlust Taint. Can further mutate into...

Twilight Valkyria (singular/plural unchanged). They are less bloodthirsty.

Both cases, Taints (usually) do not change.

Official ending names... to be decided. (Never thought of it, before. Even Apocalyptic Shadow has unnamed endings...)

Might write guide after final release of LS (or get Cibryll to do so). Tried doing it for AS. Quickly got outdated.

The only mods/games to have official names are the Solar Shadow Duology (not counting SS4) and Gun. I've been wanting to see a completed Lunar Shadow for a while and I'll be sure to play it when it comes out.
