Hanako looks precious and I can see why Cib wants to hug her a lot.Katawa Shoujo is free and you can download it here (https://www.katawa-shoujo.com/).
In all honesty, I wasn't paying attention to the days, so I'm not sure which day Hanako's birthday is.According to VNDB, Hanako's birthday is 10 July, but whether that was confirmed officially or not, I couldn't say.
Oh, her birthday was on Friday, wasn't it.In all honesty, I wasn't paying attention to the days, so I'm not sure which day Hanako's birthday is. I take it that you're also playing Katawa Shoujo?
Doing some research, and…So far, I've unlocked The Last Wish (get an overall B rank) and Dorothy (get an overall A rank) stages. I'm trying to unlock Shining Wind (get an overall A rank and defeat all gods with Rex Armour on and finish them with a Deadly Attack) and I intend to get Song of Ruin (get an overall C or D ranking) afterward.(click to show/hide)
Which endings have you gotten?
There is also a button code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left Right, L1 and R1)Those are getting surprisingly rare these days-- :o
you mean this game (https://castlevania.fandom.com/wiki/The_Sword_of_Etheria)?That's the one, yes.
Still missing Luccia? :oI suppose I could consider going back for her and Skelly, or I could just consider them unlocked considering I've used the "All Party Members" unlocked cheat to get part some instances where the game would give me a black screen when unlocking some party members.
Fixed the broken bold tag in your post~Thanks.
Wonder if he was named after Chuck Norris? The name definitely reminded me of Chuck Norris as well.
I'm guessing going overkill nets you something extra? It's required if you intend to unlock certain characters (Echidna, Jade, and Viser) but is optional otherwise. Most of the time, you'll mostly get better items once you complete a mission.
Though, was there something meant to be after the "quests aren't too bad," part?Knowing me, there probably was something I was going to say there but whatever it is, its no longer important and will likely be rendered obsolete by the next entry.
All in good time Cibryll, all in good time. Besides, I'll have to wait until the post-game until I can hit that 200 level cap. Here I thought the level cap was like 99 or 100 ^^"
Aww, so no going for the level cap?All in good time Cibryll, all in good time. Besides, I'll have to wait until the post-game until I can hit that 200 level cap.
Patrick has socks? In that game, he does. They're collectable items and you get a Golden Spatula for every 10 of them you give back to Patrick until you've found all the socks.
Game ProgressPatrick has socks?
Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom: I wanted to get some of these spatulas obtained while I still retained the knowledge on how to get them (because sleep resets the brain, hence why people forget things they try to remember). So far I've obtained the last one from Rock Bottom, three from the Mermalair (yes, I did manage to clear the rolling ball puzzle after all), two from the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard (and sock). I also got two by giving Shiny Objects to Mr Krabs and one from Patrick by giving 10 socks back.
The only Golden Spatulas I need to obtain require me to spend more Shiny Objects to buy them from Mr Krabs, and also hunting down the rest of Patrick's socks. I'm also hoping to unlock the Theatre Gallery but that requires 40,000 Shiny Objects which will take a while to grind for.
Did someone say cheats~ 🤩Most of them are just cosmetic changes or mirroring the in-game world. Nothing like making Ratchet's head bigger or invincibility (I would probably need Action Replay for that).
the Insomniac Museum. As long as it doesn't induce insomnia.
Amusingly, the first thing I thought of were these things (https://www.khwiki.com/Shadow) lmaoSadly the ones in Devil May Cry are nowhere near as easy to take down.
I've had to fight 2 Shadows under a time limitAmusingly, the first thing I thought of were these things (https://www.khwiki.com/Shadow) lmao
So guessing the meaning is from (long?) after that game.Ratchet and Clank 2 was released in 2003 and it turns out that Gorn is also a name of an alien race from Star Trek who first appeared in 1967. So yes, the meaning of Gorn seen on TV Tropes existed long after both of those examples.
Wait, Gorn!? 😨I understand the meaning that word has taken on, but the actual in-game planet isn't gory in the slightest.
I ended up unlocking the Music Box, allowing me to listen to the game's soundtrack. Neat. That's always the best part for a Cibryll, being able to listen to a game's songs (as they are in the game).
I'm at F6 in what can considered the dullest incarnation of Dracula's Castle.Pretty sure I'll be able to find some way to top that. :P
Also grinded moneyI misread that as "monkey" and wondered "wait, you can grind monkeys in a Castlevania game"?! ^^"
Téa must've taken a level in badass then :pCorrect.
Wait, isn't Duelist of the Roses a PS2 game loosely based on the Wars of the Roses (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wars_of_the_Roses)?
Now that is an interesting ship.Considering my tendency to play games in order, yes, God of War III would've been next.
If God of War 3 was on the PS2, that would probably have been next, wouldn't it?
[…] the only other interesting thing I can say is that I ended up thinking about a crack ship involving Kratos and Ursula (yes, the one from The Little Mermaid). Now that is an interesting ship.
Genji? It's referred to as Genji: Dawn of the Samurai in the US, though it seems to be called Genji elsewhere.
"Dawn of the Samurai" Genji?
That looks to be most brutal.Yes, it is. If I can get past that, then the hardest part is already over. Keep in mind that I'm playing this on real hardware, so no savestates or slowdowns. If I die, I have to start from the top. Good thing this fight is only 2:23 minutes long (though you'd be surprised how that can turn to several hours with repeated attempts).
Charlie would have quite a lot of trouble on her gloved hands if she were to play the game.
Is it a Monetary Missile or a Gullible Missile? :3I do not believe those were the missiles King was referring to.
Games ProgressThat looks to be most brutal.
Drakengard: More attempts. For reference (if anyone can see this GIF), this is what the game expects me to deal with once I get to Wave 8:
From what I've learnt, the first few notes can recovered from if I'm quick, but once I get around 18 seconds in, a single mistake is enough to send me to the Game Over screen. A single stray thought, a slight distraction and it's the end of the line for me. The sheer monotony of having to get to this point for every attempt also means that on some attempts, I'm not as sharp as I could be.
Thankfully. It's going to take several more dozen attempts, but if all goes well, I will eventually win the power of songIs it a Monetary Missile or a Gullible Missile? :3and get shot down by a missile for my troubles.
I have faith that you will eventually pull through and show the horrendous thing that you are not one to give up easily.Thankfully. It's going to take several more dozen attempts, but if all goes well, I will eventually win the power of song
* battle of the 1 000 Heartless intensifies *That one worked because the enemies are easy to take down, and the various Reaction Commands help to speed things along, ensuring that the Battle of the 1000 Heartless didn't outstay it's welcome.
… it's fun (if somewhat repetitive at times) to destroy large swathes of enemies* battle of the 1 000 Heartless intensifies *
How 'bout a Grandia? :3That does remind me, I'm considering moving some of the PS1 games into the USBs I use for PS2 games. Depending on how things go, I could theoretically have all of the PSX/PS2 Grandias in a single USB stick.
Ultimately, though, you'll get to it when you get to it~
(Dream Eater)* Meow Wow intensifies *
Makes me wish that the Balloon spells from 3D were in the game, too.I haven't even played Dream Drop Distance yet, though from I've seen, it's quite disappointing that Julius is the only superboss in that game. It would've been nice at least to have data rematches against Anti-Black Coat, Armoured Ventus Nightmare, Xemnas, Ansem, Seeker of Darkness (both forms) and Young Xehanort. Also a fight against Ultimacia, who personally I think would've fit the game's dream theme due to how trippy Final Fantasy VIII got during Time Compression.
Ye gods that spell was useful against Julius--
* hugs *It sure did. I suppose I'll prevail some other time.
Looks like Dreamland… got its revenge for now.
Does this mean I should call you Hanako? :pI know right? I absolutely love Hanako because of how beautiful she is, and that was before I actually played her route. As I was progressing through Katawa Shoujo, I was beginning to think about the possibility that looking at Hanako is like looking into a mirror. Once I actually played her route, I realize that she and I have our similarities, and that I definitely would've developed limerence for her had I met her during college.
Silliness aside, no matter how you look at it - this way, or that way, or another way: Hanako is just so adorable and I just wanna hug her to bits-- ^^"
I'm assuming Ray's talking about Reconciliation (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Fanfic/Reconciliation) or one of the others listed on here (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FanWorks/KatawaShoujo).Thanks for the recommendations.
… remember reading about fan fics… taking place after the bad ending…I agree. Hanako is precious. If you could name any of these fanfics, then that'd be nice.
… precious Hanako and flower dragon…
Wait… Clerks in Unova… example…
Offices have uniforms?!
WaitMost jobs have a uniform of some description, though I suppose some companies are lenient about it than others.
Offices have uniforms?!
… confirmation… of King… being into girls in suits…?I'm not into women in suits specifically, and I'd put them in the same category as women in office uniforms in terms of general attractiveness.
Because clearly they felt it would make the game too easy. It's strange because the US versions of MMSF2 retains these features, while the previous game was more consistent in cutting all Lunar Knights related content from all overseas versions of MMSF.
Either that, or they had some other ridiculous reason for the removals.
And since I'm playing the EU version, the Wave Commands and Tribe King aren't an option because they were removed from the EU versions of the game.Because clearly they felt it would make the game too easy.
… LW gets stuff… Terra does not in BBS… as LW…?To be fair, KH2FM Lingering Will was created first, and BBS is a prequel, so Terra doesn't get any of the cool superboss perks in that game that he'd later get as KH2FM Lingering Will.
Most ironic to use Fire against a Water-user.The game counts Demyx's clones and Demyx himself as Ice type despite him using water magic.
… you must clearly be a masochist.RKS or me?
At least none of them are capable of inflicting DOOM like the Land of Departure post-game boss in BBS. [skull]Oh him. The Mysterious Figure. I've heard that boss is considered to be one of the hardest superbosses in the series, and is considered infamous for his sheer difficulty.
… deep anxiety…?Oh yeah, the battle theme for the Cavern of Remembrance. I had expected that place to be quite tough because of it's status as the game's bonus dungeon, though in actuality it wasn't that bad and only some parts were annoying (i.e The Engine Chamber and it's accursed Runemasters, getting the last few puzzle pieces using Final Form, and the second and third waves of Nobodies in the Transport of Remembrance).
Indeed, the time limit of 10 seconds was increased to 15 seconds in the Final Mix.That too, though the time limit is enough so that the player will almost always have a few seconds left to spare when all the water copies have been defeated.
Demyx himself deals a lot of damage but aside from that, he's far easier than I remember (despite my KHII playthrough being on an easier difficulty in contrast to my current KHII:FM playthrough).Indeed, the time limit of 10 seconds was increased to 15 seconds in the Final Mix.
The constant shouting of getting onto the back of the Hydra is most annoying to myself. It did not, no. Not that I needed to get on it's back though.
I imagine the Final Mix did not tone this down?
I am more puzzled as to how Sora could grow while essentially being in a coma for a year.Sora looked as though he'd grown several years rather than just a single year, so maybe the capsule (or Namine) had been providing him the necessary nutrients during his time in statis so he wouldn't end up malnourished.
With that said, the Lingering Will is most likely going to be an incredible challenge.
As for the Roxas section, Charlie might get a little miffed with you. The dual-wielding part being her favourite, and all.
… then the true final bonus boss… that never was… having 666…Huh, I had actually been thinking about a potential Sephiroth fight where he has a perfect all 9s deck and can use the strongest sleights in the game. Also, thanks for the congratulations.
… and Sora's Heartless… -1…
… congrats on beating Sora's Side… Riku's Return next… but possibly harder due to not being able to customize his deck…
… flashing back to some battles…
… imagine final door… being 444 or higher…Dear lord, I would have to spend hours doing battles in hopes of feeding the "4 is Death" door just to open it.
I suppose this means Hook has finally done a barrel roll, losing to his own barrels?Sure, let's go with that. One of his attacks is called Barrel Blast, and all I can think about is Donkey Kong whenever that name shows up on screen.
Mickey Mouse is a Friend Card during Riku's story mode, dealing damage and healing if I am not mistaken.I haven't gotten to Riku's story yet, so I wouldn't really know if the green Hidden Mickey and the Mickey Mouse friend card have any differences in design... yet.
Guessing you didn't get the green Hidden Mickey card during some of the boss battles, then. That's exactly what I mean by "Mickey Mouse card". I didn't get it during the Guard Armour or Jafar fights, and declined to use it during the Oogie Boogie fight because I thought that it initially worked like Mickey Mouse in Kingdom Hearts 2. I know that it causes the table and chair to reappear during the Trickmaster fight and drains the acid completely in the Parasite Cage fight, because I used the green card during those fights. I haven't fought Ursula, Maleficient Dragon or Darkside yet but thanks for the heads up.
Guard Armor, Trickmaster, Jafar, Parasite Cage, Oogie Boogie, Ursula, Dragon Maleficent, and Darkside all have Gimmick Cards in their battles.
The Mickey Mouse card? So far, that card has healed me, gotten rid of the acid surrounding the Parasite Cage and brought back the table and chair during the Trickmaster fight. I wonder what it'll do in future battles.Guessing you didn't get the green Hidden Mickey card during some of the boss battles, then.
I fought Trickmaster in Re:Coded long before I played Re:Chain of Memories and he seemed to be easier there, probably because that fight is a rail shooter and I was playing in on the normal difficulty, long before I started choosing to play the KH games on the hardest difficulty.I think I've played it on Critical just for the trophies?
Rawr :2Wonderland in Kingdom Hearts feels more like a cardboard diorama than an actual world, and I'm not sure if that's by design or not.
It looked lifeless and empty?
I blame the Heartless for that.
I had an easy time with them, though this was on the GBA version so I dunno how different it is between games--
Yeah, they're no flower dragon. :3
But seriously, Creeper Plants are a nuisance even if they can't walk around.
Along with the Crescendo (or Loudmouth) and the Tornado Step, those are the only new Heartless that debuted in KHCOM.
… ha.
Those Gimmick Cards sure like to be a nuisance when they decide not to show up.
I'm warning you right now that Trickmaster ain't any easier in Re:coded. Like. You don't even get to stay in one room.
Proud Roar Lv.3Rawr :2
My next stop is Wonderland, a world that is actually improved here because it doesn't look as lifeless and empty as it did in Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.It looked lifeless and empty?
The fight with the Card Soldiers was quite difficult, though after a few tries I won (a Stop card I found in the previous room made all the difference).I had an easy time with them, though this was on the GBA version so I dunno how different it is between games--
Also those blasted flowers show up again, but I got a card from one of them (which might be useful later on).Yeah, they're no flower dragon. :3
The fight with Trickmaster.. ugh.. it's my least favourite boss by far, and while it wasn't as brutal as it was during Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, it still sucks. Cloud unfortunately had to sit this fight out because he can't hit any of Trickmaster's weaknesses. Worse still is that I can simply jump up to a set of platforms in the corner like I could in the original fight. In short, it was a very tedious fight.… ha.
There are sleights which need three of the same cards with the same number, as well.I initally believed that all sleights worked this way, in that they needed the exact same number. And honestly the Sleight system kinda reminds me of the Program Advances in MegaMan Battle Network.
It would have been nice if you were rewarded for using a given Sleight a number of times, perhaps with a rare card.
… some Sleights… do require three of same…I only learnt yesterday that a lot of cards (e.g Friend Cards or Magic cards) do require three of the same cards. Of course it'll be a matter of time to figure out if I'll have any use for those ones in particular.
(*grumble*)
To be fair, she has finished the GBA version quite a few times, so she is certainly accustomed to it.I've yet to play the GBA version, though it'll be interesting to see how different it is compared to the PS2 version.
Yeah, but that wasn't on Proud.I take it that you adapted to the card system far better than I did.
Without cheats, I'm never going on anything but the easiest difficulty settings.
Card breaks are really useful though--
* gets eaten by an Opposite Armour *
Of course. Now the Heartless have it in for me.
… Charlie got to floor 2… in ReCOM…Yeah, but that wasn't on Proud.
…I now know what I must do.
* drops King… on piano *
I'm not sure if that's a hint to something or a reference to a video game.…
… piano and king…I'm not sure if that's a hint to something or a reference to a video game.
According to the Sectors file (which I found rather interesting), there is only the Cursed Gateway (14) which can only be accessed from the Ancient Tomb (06) which is apparently replaced by Ancient Tomb (13) when certain conditions are met. Problem is, there is a watery area right of where I found the Gengenschien which has a tall part that I cannot get over due to the water physics, leaving me to drown because the draining oxygen ensures I can't get back to land in time.Yeah, it's the end already. Sorry~ ^^"
In other words, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something else or if this really is the end of my Umbrageous Light playthrough.
Yeah I think that's about it--According to the Sectors file (which I found rather interesting), there is only the Cursed Gateway (14) which can only be accessed from the Ancient Tomb (06) which is apparently replaced by Ancient Tomb (13) when certain conditions are met. Problem is, there is a watery area right of where I found the Gengenschien which has a tall part that I cannot get over due to the water physics, leaving me to drown because the draining oxygen ensures I can't get back to land in time.
The colour remaining unchanged was intended, plus I like how it looks with the moon background~ <3Oh yeah. Umbrageous Light takes place in the Nihil Server, which is data themed. I checked the wiki, remembered that Sea Zone is one of the areas and that it exists outside of the Dataverse as well. That said,Origin Cave (non-Dataverse) could be sepia/beige, though I wonder if there would be any other differences as well.
Maybe the non-DataVerse Origin Cave could be a different colour, though?
At this point, the only thing I'd really change about Origin Cave is the colour and I think Sepia or Beige would work for that area. The colour remaining unchanged was intended, plus I like how it looks with the moon background~ <3
1. Very early. After the Accursed boss, I don't think there's a lot of stuff? After the Accursed, there is a weapon that can be found to break blocks. and a terminal that needs to be activated to unlock the teleporter. Dying in this area is a pain unless I backtrack all the way to the save point. At least laying waste to my enemies with fully levelled up weapons is fun at least. At this point, the only thing I'd really change about Origin Cave is the colour and I think Sepia or Beige would work for that area. As for the ReadMe file, yeah, that's true. It didn't cross my mind at all until you mentioned it.
2. Yeah, I wanted the first room of Origin Cave to have a little bit of familiarity… at first. :P
Plus the name's meaningful: the XSP began as mods of Cave Story, after all, so it made sense--
3. The custom name boxes was done using the TIMG hack, which requires the TSC+ hack. The mod also uses the PHYS hack. The "Timg" files in "Umbrageous Light/data" are the name boxes, but you could, say, use full character art or area maps for that.
4. The title screen options are just for show, sowwy ;-;
I'm guessing you didn't really go through the Readme file. ^.^"
Umbrageous Light: I decided to for whatever reason play Umbrageous Light. I assume that it's early in development so I'll play it through just to see how far along it is. I had initially thought the first area was just First Cave from vanilla Cave Story at first but the subtle changes have made for an interesting playthrough.1. Very early. After the Accursed boss, I don't think there's a lot of stuff?
I died several times in the room after I defeated the Accursed (and it took several attempts before I cottoned on and realized I could backtrack to the save point so I wouldn't have to repeat the boss fight). I also like the custom name boxes underneath the text boxes and will have to consider trying that out for myself. Also the title screen has several other options but I'm not sure if they're actual options or if they simply exist for show.
The main menu having only two working buttons is intentional. So only "Initialize" and
"Continue" will work, even if you clear the game over nine thousand times. This is, of
course, due to limitations (but it also leads into spoilers).
In the unlikely event that the mod gets remade in an entirely new game engine, however,
this will be altered somewhat - settings can be altered in-game (rather than using the
external program), and the Sound Test and Profile can be unlocked later on (the Profile
would just be for keeping stats like first start date and first clear date and other
useless accomplishments and whatnot).
Almost a full house. That turned out to be completely true.
The next scene has Rin, Emi, Lily and Hanako arrange to meet up on the rooftop for lunch, though I've yet to progress any further.Almost a full house.
Arcane Dragon… wasn't that the boss on that post-game planet? You're thinking of Omega Dragon, who is the last of three bosses on New World. Arcane Dragon is only unlocked after you beat every door boss and all 3 bosses on New World.
I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED.Huh, so that's how you summon Cibryll.
I misunderstood that as Hisao meeting an actual family cough and was like, "wait what?" :))
That would've been… quite a misunderstanding.
ice creamI HAVE BEEN SUMMONED.
(cough Hisao meeting Shizune's family cough)I misunderstood that as Hisao meeting an actual family cough and was like, "wait what?" :))
… boosting critical hit rate… might aid in Mystery from not fun guys…?I've already got several Critical Pluses equipped. I didn't summon Tinkerbell at the start so that seems to be my main mistake considering that her HP regen and 1 time revival would've helped.
… cheats like in re:coded… would be nice…
(… built-in cheats… on the stat board… some with side effects like stronger enemies…)
So did you ever get past that world in KH1? I haven't played Chain of Memories (GBA or PS2 versions) yet, so I'm not sure if Alantica is any better in that game or in KH2.Nope. And because of the hard drive failure of October 2022, I never will unless I get my motivation to play games back and redownload the games.
I F*CKING HATE ATLANTICASo did you ever get past that world in KH1? I haven't played Chain of Memories (GBA or PS2 versions) yet, so I'm not sure if Alantica is any better in that game or in KH2.
Except in Chain of Memories. There you don't have troublesome controls--
I'm not that far yet, but I'm sure that when I get to that fight, it'll probably be pretty challenging.I meant, as in, SUBMIT to the Kingdom Hearts plot of confusing DARKNESS! >:D
SUBMIT!I'm not that far yet, but I'm sure that when I get to that fight, it'll probably be pretty challenging.
:p
Not sure if the Warp Drive is a thing in vanilla KH1 though. I don't remember. ;-;
Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix: So I felt compelled to come to this one yesterday.SUBMIT!
… okay, that's just dumb game design there, I'd think.MegaMan Star Force 3 didn't have this problem with Rogue ZZ. In that game, all you had to do was put in a code that unlocked Rogue ZZ. You could also save your game before fighting him. Which when I think about it now was one of the many improvements Star Force 3 had over Star Force 2.
MegaMan Star Force 2: After several attempts at Le Mu XA, I won, made it past the unskippable credits and unlocked the Rogue SX fight. I changed up my folder for the battle (unfortunately I can't save before Rogue SX), tried my best and lost. *sigh* I'm gonna have to kill Le Mu XA every time I want retry this fight for the secret ending.… okay, that's just dumb game design there, I'd think.
Careful that grinding disc doesn't hit you in the face or something.Unlike the first and third MegaMan Star Force games, Star Force 2's post-game is an exercise is masochism. I mean, it was hell to get through those IF fights and I know that once I get all 150 Standard cards, I'm going to have to fight Apollo Flame. And if his fight in Star Force 3 is any indication, it's definitely going to be a tough one.
Luna still has that scar from the other year--
Also you're more patient than I am.
I don't have the patience to go hunting for EX+ bosses. :))
… difficulty…?Kingdom Hearts only had Normal and Expert Modes. The Final Mix version changes them to Final Mix: Beginner, Final Mix and Final Mix: Proud Mode. As I've mentioned already, I'm doing a playthrough on Proud Mode.
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix: So I decided to start the game, and I'm doing it on Proud Mode.
Games ProgressA nighttime stroll can be most romantic at times.
Katawa Shoujo: More progress. Rin decides to try destroying herself by smoking cigarettes so she and Hisao decide to do that. Rin gets art block so Hisao takes her out around the town at night. On some level, I feel that Hisao is a bland protagonist and that the girls he can date are far more interesting than he is. But then you have moments like the night scene and it reminds me that even Hisao has his moments.
Wait whatOh yeah, MegaMan XOver. I remember that it was a mobile game that wasn't very popular. That aside, DX does add changes that consist of Quality of Life Changes, adding back content that was removed from overseas versions of the original games and changing things around so you could get Giga cards that were exclusive to each version (Pegasus/Dragon/Leo) originally and fight all 3 Satellite Admins.
THat's
An actual thing
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge.
King, did you know that existed?
I--
DX has a lot of changes compared to the original version, huh? :o
I don't remember the tropical tea thing, though, so I imagine that's either new or something I've missed.
Googling Queen Ophiuca for the proper spelling… discovered this (https://megaman.fandom.com/wiki/Rockman_Xover)…Wait what
The XSP's MegaMan references continue…
Games ProgressI--
MegaMan Star Force DX: Completed Gemini Spark's scenario and got their card, lost some brotherbands, regained them and a new one, fought Leo Kingdom and got the Fire Leo Star Force before having to find Aaron Boreal's former boss and bribe him with tropical tea. After that, I spent an hour or two trying to find data telling me where the space station bunker is because the game requires me to find it despite knowing where the bunker is located. Ended up defeating Gemini Spark EX and obtained their card and did the same for Wolf Woods EX.
Ended up looking up the location of the data and uncovered the bunker.
I really didn't think that one through. Didn't realize it was a Naruto reference. With Cibryll… expect anything… she might even reference something none of us are familiar with…
Wait are you encouraging Deidara's view on art!? O_OI really didn't think that one through. Didn't realize it was a Naruto reference.
And not an explosion. :pIt can be if you want it to be.
Rin is right. Art is supposed to be fun.And not an explosion. :p
Best swordsman known to Lunar Tierce… hence highest-ranking LT Knight…?I wouldn't say the best. The Deathbringer's Shade is just that powerful.
Only sign language I know… is highly rude…Ah. So, flipping the bird then?
Iji reference.That sounds brutal.
I can't find a video on it, though. ;-;
But basically, the final boss can potentially use a weapon called the Phantom Hammer to instantly kill Iji (right down to erasing all your stats, even your health, to zero).
"Hello, is this the Department of Redundancy Department?" :pNew Bloom Beast?
* gets Phantom Hammer'd *
It's always redundancies with me."Hello, is this the Department of Redundancy Department?" :p
WaitIt's always redundancies with me. Primal Groudon and Primal Groudon is but one example. The plan is to go for Rin's route but any other is fine. Hanako's route is last, so I see what the other routes have to offer.
You got the good ending (and bad ending) on Emi's route so now you'll try and see if you can get Emi's route--
Huhhh?
Games ProgressWait
So I managed to get the Good Ending on Emi's route and honestly, it was worth all the build-up. Decided to speedrun the game so I could get it over with and get her bad ending; I learnt on that route that if you mess up and go after her when you're at Emi's house, you end up seeing Misha. If you tell her what happened, you can get another chance and still get the good ending but if you downplay, it's over for you and Emi.
It's got me thinking, both Hanako and Emi's routes get you a bad ending if you white knight them but you get the good ending by acting like a decent human being to them. They've also lost a parent so I'm sure they'd understand each other's pain and both of them are friends with another student heavily associated with them.
I'll try and see if I can get Emi's route but any other is fine. Hanako's will still be last.
Must resist urge to--I was thinking that if Hisao ever met the team coach Captain Falcon, he'd probably get Falcon Thrusted and feel sore in the morning afterwards.
F-F-FALCON PUNCH--
* falls off the platform into the abyss *
Game set!
The winner is King (2.0)!
Wait wha--
Never got that far in my first Katawa Shoujo playthrough during the Aeonian Night (heck, best I got was the fatal route of Kenji's) and that was way back in 2012 before I went and removed the game from my PC at the time.
Therefore, Bloom was in no manner inspired by Emi, though I imagine kid Bloom in orange clothes more than green clothes (that's more teen Bloom's style).
… definitely would've gone for purple for adult Bloom. Some sort of royal, sophisticated colour or something, I dunno. :p
I then go on a date with Emi next day and she's wearing green. Green clothes. Green eyes. Blonde hair. Upbeat personality. :3 face. Real Bloom Seymour?Wait wha--
Oooh, which songs?Cyber Track Act 3, Chaos Angel Act 3, Nonaggression and it's Pinch variant.
Were any Chaos Angel songs among them? :3
Games ProgressOooh, which songs?
Listened to some music from […] and Sonic Advance 3.
EmiSo does Shizune. Which is the last thing you'd expect from her but such is life I guess.
has
a
:3 face?!
YE GODS THE BLOOM BEASTS HAVE ALREADY STARTED ASSIMILATING VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS--
After spending hours editing pages for MMBN5's Chaos Lord and Riveria: The Promised Land's Hades, I decided to play Katawa Shoujo even though it was 1:00am. I decided not to take it easy during the second race with Emi andEmidieget a heart attack for my troubles. I think I might be on the Emi route and if that's the case that I'll go for it (How can you not like Emi's :3 face anyway?)
Ah, yes, that VN where you date girls who are personifications of various katana and probably other legendary swords reimagined as katana. It seems that I need to sharpen this Hanako. The fire has made it very blunt.
What a page-topper. xP
… Katana Shoujo… bizarre…Ah, yes, that VN where you date girls who are personifications of various katana and probably other legendary swords reimagined as katana.
… Katana Shoujo… bizarre…It's a common interpretation that Kenji pushes Hisao off the roof during the bad ending, even though the narration doesn't state such a thing and Hisao himself doesn't act as though Kenji pushed him to his death.
But was it truly an accident…?
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa wait--There's a Shinica in this game?! O_OI can't believe I misspelled Shizune's name. She's not going to be pleased. Then again, I suppose you could name one of the nameless classmates Shinica if you wanted to.
After all this, I'm back in class with Misha and Shinica. There's a Shinica in this game?! O_O
Games ProgressYeah, some visual novels have their own styles (as with Ace Attorney).
Katawa Shoujo. My goal is to try and get the Kenji route. So far, I've grown to like Misha and Shizune, and it's a shame that Misha doesn't have a route of her own because she seems like someone I'd want to hang out with. The music is great and Hisao's descriptions of things are interesting though most of it feels like cutscene after cutscene.
Maybe I'm missing the point of visual novels and should try and give the genre a chance. I already enjoyed Ace Attorney though it was vastly different to this game.
D:I can't exactly take the [title] of Despair name since you appeared to have borrowed it in a different forum. I want to try again to quit using p-orn. Reading the Easy Peasy Method (https://easypeasymethod.org/) is something I decided to do again because it's right about a lot of things.
* hugs a lot *
King (2.0) formerly of despair! (Can't exactly go full name ultimatum here. ^^; )
You can fight it. Believe in the me that believes in you that believes in me! (Or something like that. Might be misquoting.)
* hugs a lot, again *
I like Hanako just as much~
I just wanna hug her and hug her some more and, uhhh, what else… oh yeah, hug her even more :3
So it has come to this. Due to the current apathy and misery in my life, I've grown bored of the real world. And after going p-orn free for 119 days before relapsing, I've fallen and it feels difficult to break away from the mental slavery and brainwashing it's imposed upon me even though it's so easy to walk away from it all.D:
However, now my subconscious recommends Katawa Shoujo and after another p-orn relapse yesterday, I decided I had nothing to lose and decided to download the game.
The only plan so far is that due to my disdain for romantic relationships, I'll reject them all and take Kenji up on his offer for a manly picnic. Hanako's route will be done last because she's my favourite of the young women you can date.I like Hanako just as much~
Yeah, can get annoying ,but I just cheat :pI'm considering using a cheat if I ever play Sonic Advance 2 because I've heard a lot about how Chao Hunting is a pain in the arse in that game.
The Special Stage music is kinda fun though--
Oh yeah, because I completed Toy Kingdom Act 3 with Tails and Knuckles, I think? Aside from that, I've got Chao hunting to do, then I have get these accursed keys just to play a Special Stage and if I mess up, I have to go back to any of the 3 acts to get the key again.Yeah, can get annoying ,but I just cheat :p
That'll be easy, I think? You'll need Sonic in the lead, IIRC.Oh yeah, because I completed Toy Kingdom Act 3 with Tails and Knuckles, I think? Completed Sonic Advance 3 with the normal ending. Need to unlock Amy.
Might be the PS2 game scanning device thing (IDK what it's called) that's busted, or something, at a wild guess. It's strange. I tested this out with several other PS2 games and they load up and play just fine so the Rachet and Clank 2 disc is still the main element here. I could see if cleaning the PS2 disc scanner and the disc will change anything.
It seems to be just that game, though I might consider testing a bunch of other PS2 games to see if it applies to them too.Might be the PS2 game scanning device thing (IDK what it's called) that's busted, or something, at a wild guess.
King has hereby been disqualified from the match for stepping out of the ring.It seems to be just that game, though I might consider testing a bunch of other PS2 games to see if it applies to them too.
The winner is Flower Dragon :3
Is it just that game, or other PS2 games too?
I like the music for Twinkle Snow Zone. :3
If it exists, chances are it has a fan-game.
Though a text-based RPG is not something I expected - I didn't even know those exist (other than tabletop games). :o
Games Progress
Still no actual progress. Decided to clean Rachet and Clank 2 with deodorant and pulling out one of the wires on the back of the PS2 and putting it back in. Managed to get past the black screen only after the intro cutscene only to make it to an infinitely looping loading screen. God **** damnit.
Games ProgressIs it just that game, or other PS2 games too?
Cleaned Ratchet and Clank 2 with deodorant and a cloth. Made it as far as the loading screen which seems to loop infinitely.
Played Sonic Advance 3 and made it to Twinkle Snow Zone.I like the music for Twinkle Snow Zone. :3
Games ProgressIf it exists, chances are it has a fan-game.
So I was on TV Tropes and found a Steven Universe fangame called Flawed Crystal, a text based RPG made in the Another RPG engine. As it turned out, it was quite relaxing and it's a fun AU with good writing.
… there's a Hard difficulty?! (And I've had trouble with the starting difficulty.)From my own experience, the game isn't too tough until you reach Armed Train Irving. That said, you do unlock Hard difficulty by beating the game once. Beating the game on Hard Mode unlocks Nightmare Mode.. As for the Boss Rush, all boss refights are Lv: 50 so I'm definitely not strong enough to take them on yet.
Well, at least you don't have to pay EXP to start the tower all over again.
Games Progress… there's a Hard difficulty?! (And I've had trouble with the starting difficulty.)
Decided to play Lunar Knights on Hard difficulty and kept my levels. It's a shame you can't skip the first two chapters (Bravely Second's New Game + let you pick which chapter to start from) though I'm on Chapter 3.
Vambury Tower basically has you fight enemies with a boss every 10 floors. The first 10 floors were easy. I've also learnt if you fall off the tower and you pay Sol, you have to start the whole thing over. The Beginner's Boots double EXP but disable Sol gain. I don't think I'll need those until I reach Dark Castle Auguste again.
* attacks *In Shovel Knight, you can play as Shovel Knight, Plague Knight, Specter Knight and King Knight. Each character has their own campaign and play style.

Uhhh…
* gets eaten by a flower dragon *
Yeah. I've got an aggressive playstyle for the most part, too.
Though I try to be more careful in difficult games like La-Mulana 2 - especially what with the Tower of Oannes and its diabolical puzzling traps. :p
Wait--
Specter Knight can be unlocked in Shovel Knight?!
I suppose. I do just because I have an aggressive playstyle. That of course would explain why I prefer playing as Specter Knight over Shovel Knight for instance.* attacks *
Well, I usually rush into battle too. I guess I'm a "Leeroy Jenkins" sort of person? :sI suppose. I do just because I have an aggressive playstyle. That of course would explain why I prefer playing as Specter Knight over Shovel Knight for instance.
* cut to Duke Dumas getting back up again and complaining that he's not being paid enough for this *Damn right they do. And the final level makes you deal with several green and purple ones in a room with skeleton archers. This room has several walls around that also limit your freedom of movement This is the second room by the way.
Those elemental wolves deal a lot of damage, huh? I never even got that far but it sounds kinda frustrating. ;-;
Games Progress* cut to Duke Dumas getting back up again and complaining that he's not being paid enough for this *
Lunar Knights: Gained a level for both characters. Turned out that and a full Trance meter for both characters was just the thing I needed to put the Duke in his place. Duke Dumas is down for the count and Chapter 5 is finally over. Need to do some level grinding for Chapter 6. As it turns out, I can't get past the second room because those goddamn elemental wolves deal so much damage.
Even more fun than chasing a trollnado? :p(https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-DCDKeJ1foZM%2FUq-821CF6JI%2FAAAAAAAAE1k%2FDlp6Dx5BimA%2Fs1600%2Fed8.gif&f=1&nofb=1)
* takes a grinder *Destroying the level with a grinder would totally be fun though.
* grinds several levels apart *
Oh, you meant "level grind" as in "gain more experience", not "destroy the level with a grinder". My bad.
Yeah, slowdown's kinda a pain and three-quarters. (That's more than a pain and a half. :p )It really is. In case of Jet Ion GP, it's kinda annoying but not unplayable. Final Fantasy X's FMV cutscenes were far worse when it came to lag.
On occasion, The Movies would just freeze while my people are busy with a film. Just temporarily, at least, but still. Kinda gets super annoying after a while. -_-
Also, flower dragon. :3
I'm glad you've made it farther in Lunar Knights than I have. :)
(Then again, you are a Lunar Tierce Knight. :p )
Games ProgressYeah, slowdown's kinda a pain and three-quarters. (That's more than a pain and a half. :p )
Completed Chapter 4. Long. Baron Stoker was also far more challenging and actually requires use of both characters to finish the fight. Also played Jet Ion GP's Grand Prix mode. Completed Standard and unlocked Expert B. Got second place on Expert B. Soundtrack is good though the game does suffer from slowdown.
Take a chance and step forward with pride! Face that fear (or whatev you wanna call it)! You! Can! Do it!Rub Rabbits does have rabbit girls but only in the game's intro. Also the main character is called Rabbit (which kinda does sound like Rub it, a phrase associated with the game and both him and the girlfriend do have rabbit ears in the game's ending.
Gimme a K-I-N-G! Version, two-point-zero! Goooooo, King!
* throws a Poke Ball, sending out a Beldum named "King (2.0)" *
... Sorry, force of habit, haha :s
Silly question, does Rub Rabbits have rabbits, or bunny girls, or neither?
Ugh. You reminded me of a game I can't play... because for whatever reason the terrain doesn't load for me. So I'm running around on the void, as it were. :pThat reminds of when I was a kid, it was possible for me to occasionally fall into the multicoloured void in Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie Game. That said, I've got all the Golden Sun games on my silver R4 so I may get to those in the future.
But if Golden Sun - Dark Dawn could have its sound issues on the emulator repaired, then I'm sure Lunar Knights can have its issues fixed on the emulator too.
I did better on the Aeonian Night Windows 7 PC (got to the second boss in 2016) though. Now? Not even near a first boss, haha.
LK was fun, but then, it's probably the cat's doing. :3
