(Page 9 : Lunar Shadow/Lunar Shadow Soul)
- Lunar Shadow itself is a boss having 3 phases and is the game's true final boss. It's first phase is like Chaos from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow in which it takes Serenity's weapons aside from the Arcanum.
- It's second form is like Ballo's final form except it firesprojectiles, summons copies of Shiori and has red, damaging water at the bottom of the arena.
- It's final form is a feminine humanoid that can call upon lasers, surrounds itself with orbs resembling it's previous form, can summon meteors and can even use Serenity's weapons.
- Lunar Shadow Soul is a harder version of Lunar Shadow with the forms visually altered and a new fourth form.
- Form 1: The angels are now coloured black and the wheel is darker.
- Form 2: The core is now rainbow instead of just red. In addition, the bullet patterns are altered to make them harder and the Shiori copies are replaced with Serenity copies instead.
- Form 3: The third form is now rainbow and has Serenity's head design. Her weapon attacks now closely resemble Serenity's weapons.
- Final Form: Resembles Valkyrie Horton without her jumpsuit.
- Lunar Shadow unlock: Beat the game, complete Sea Zone, Zone of Confusion and Sanguine Sanctuary. After that, refight the final boss and the Grim Path opens up which can be used to reach the Bloodstained Moon where Lunar Shadow awaits.

(Page 8 : The True Final Battle)
- THE TRUE FINAL BATTLE
- [Phase 1] Serenity fights 3 statue wheels holding red, blue and yellow orbs. All weapons except the Arcanum have been taken away. Each orb has it's own attack: Red orb fires a ring of energy bullets, Yellow Orb fires 3 orbs in a triangular format and Blue Orb fires several diamonds in a curved line. Destroying the orbs allows you to get your weapons back.
- [Phase 2] Serenity returns to light and with Ignis now fight against Lunar Shadow itself. A grotesque fetal beast in a crystalline shell, it stays in the background and uses various attacks such as thorns, energy orbs, spatial slashes and calling upon lasers. However Serenity and Ignis can send the orbs back to Lunar Shadow, damaging it. They can also attack red clones of Shiori which turn into light orbs that damage Lunar Shadow.
- [Phase 3] With it's current form destroyed, Lunar Shadow is stopped in it's tracks. Serenity V. Horton, now satisfied, leaves her descendant with the last of her power and tells her to stay sharp. Lunar Shadow takes the form of a nu-de figure, namely Shiori Shauntel. She attacks using vague appropriations of Serenity's weapons and uses her spatial slashes and lasers from Phase 2.
- After that, Lunar Shadow screams in agony before warning them of a greater threat, one that goes by the name of Vresun. Serenity and Ignis escape the Bloodstained Moon and return home through the Grim Path. When they return, the door is gone and the moon is reverted to normal. The player now earns the true ending: Lunar Overshadowed.

The Grim Path/Bloodstained Moon
- THE GRIM PATH
- This area is a simple black and white area that is only 3 screens long. At the end is a door seen nowhere else, that if entered takes you to Bloodstained Moon.
- BLOODSTAINED MOON
- Bloodstained Moon only has 2 rooms. The first one has only the door to the Grim Path and a save point. The other room has Lunar Shadow, the game's true final boss.
- A cutscene plays. Serenity V. Horton is determined not to let Lunar Shadow carry out it's goal: to assimilate all life. She's been at this for a thousand years, taking on a younger form in order to stay alive.
- Serenity tries to approach the core only to be swarmed with darkness with Ignis unable to help.
-

The Final Battle- Revisited
- THE FINAL BATTLE- REVISITED
- Ashen's dialogue changes completely, noting that Serenity must be that determined to stop him if she's gone as far as to venture into the 3 Forbidden Areas.
- The fights are unchanged, though Ignis will now help you by attacking the final boss.
- Once the Castle Master's Soul is destroyed, the ending is changed with Shiori's voice telling the duo that the Grim Path now awaits them.
- The game sends you back to the title screen (with an additional star) but if you load your save file, you'll now be at the Outer Warp Gate.
-
Optional Content (Page 5)
Zone of Confusion
- ZONE OF CONFUSION
- Serenity can access the Zone of Confusion through Top Floor CZ, unlocked by beating the game. Serenity goes into a pink door which takes her to the actual area.
- Zone of Confusion has 4 area: (Area 1) Corridor of Perplexion, (Area 2) Mystifying River, (Area 3) Bewildering Field and (Area 4) Shrine of Uncertainty.
- Area 1: Corridors of Perplexion involves several horizonal corridors littered with red fatal spikes and pink fatal spikes. The pink spikes aren't real and won't harm you. As such, you fall through the pink spikes and avoid the red ones.
- Area 2: Mystifying River has Serenity avoid enemies on land and navigate through pink water that reverses controls. The enemies cannot be killed and kill Serenity on contact. Serenity will eventually make it to land and move into the next area.
- Area 3: Bewildering Field has the enemies from Area 2 but also NPCs who happen to be previous Castle Masters. The area is a field with salmon coloured ground and pink grass with the spikes from Area 1 and the water of Area 2.
- Area 4: Shrine of Uncertainty is a short area with a Save Point and a Warp Door. It resembles a shrine of sorts and has a stage boss.
- Serenity meets with Collector Confushias who mistakes her for Serenity V. Horton. He remarks that she seems to have lost her Tyranto Staff and Ragna-Cannon and wonders why she hasn't brought back the Castle Master's Soul yet.
- Serenity explains her situation to Confushias and so the latter decides to test Serenity's combat prowess in a 3 phase battle.
- [Phase 1] Confushias fights you with his Puppetmaster Aura and calls his two puppets Xalmar and Zhagus to assist him. Xalmar prefers projectile attacks while Zhaghus gets up close. Confushias himself attacks with explosive energy (Uses Undead Cores's A.I)
- [Phase 2[ Confushias uses his Guardian Aura which can run Serenity over and fire homing orbs. It hits hard in order to make up for it's middling HP. (Uses Monster X's A.I)
- [Phase 3] Confushias surrounds himself with a green barrier which is shielded by the souls of the previous Castle Masters. In addition, Serenity must also contend with fallen souls.
- After the battle is over, Confushias congratulates Serenity and gives her the Ragna-Cannon, telling her that the Tyranto Staff is far too powerful for someone like her.
- Serenity leaves the Confusion Zone with new weapon in tow. If she's completed all 3 bonus dungeons, she must then refight Ashen/T.E.D with Ignis at her side.
-
Optional Content (Page 4)
Sanguine Sanctuary
- SANGUINE SANCTUARY
- Serenity can access this area via a doorway in the Laboratory Warp Room.
- Sanguine Sanctuary has 4 areas: (Area 1) Gate of Bleeding, (Area 2) Streams of Blood, (Area 3) Sands of Nexash and (Area 4) Bloodstained Seal.
- Area 1: Gate of Bleeding resembles a shrine and has various NPCS within it. Several of them discourage Serenity from venturing fourth though it's futile.
- Area 2: Streams of Blood prevents the use of the Oxygen Aura and the Valkyrie Wings. Serenity must swim through blood and climb across various pieces of architecture.
- Area 3: Sands of Nexash has Serenity in an area with blood red walls, a green background and red/green sand. She must do battle with Nexash, a long slain create that Shiori memorialized. (It uses Alpha's A.I and Puu Black's A.I) It has 2 health bars; in Phase 1, it fights Serenity in it's shell-like body. During Phase 2, it leaves it's body as and attacks as it's eye. After that fight, Serenity ventures upward until she reaches the door into Area 4.
- Area 4: Bloodstained Seall is a black and red area. The grass is blood red like in Area 2 though most of Area 4 is like a prison. Once Serenity reaches the top, a scene involving Shiori plays out. It introduces her as a character important in Newerth's history before she created Lunar Shadow (as a protector) and was sealed away when it went rogue and after she died.
- Shiori has 4 phases much like the Castle Master. Her first form has her teleport, surrounding herself with blood orbs, fire blood projectiles and yellow lasers. (Uses Misery's A.I.)
- She then morphs into a black and red tank, resembling Valkyrie X. The difference is that the arena is partially submerged in blood and covered with fatal spikes at the sides. (Uses Monster X's A.I)
- Her next form resembles Shinica Horton with Shiori's colours. Her attacks are the same as Shinica's but the battle takes place in a room with moving platforms and fatal spikes. Falling off the platforms spells death.
- Her final form resembles T.E.D except with Shiori's palette. The difference is that the arena is covered in dark grey and red bones with fatal spikes and blood water.
- Once Shiori!T.E.D is down, Shiori reverts to her default form, warns Serenity that she's powerful without the shapeshifting and that Serenity should deal with Lunar Shadow, her greatest mistake. She then fades away,.
- Serenity must then escape through a corridor which then leads her to Bloodstained Sanctuary's Warp Door or outside the Lunar Soul Castle.
- If Ignis was recruited, she'll help Serenity. There are also minor dialogue additions if you get to Shiori or Nexash.
-
Optional Content (Page 3)
Sea Zone
- SEA ZONE
- After using a Password to unlock Sea Zone, Serenity ventures into a blue door. This takes her to Sea Zone.
- Sea Zone is a water based dungeon, similar to the Reservoir. It also has various lifts, some of which transport Serenity over a bed of spikes.
- To find Ignis, Serenity must find a blue house. Once there a scene plays and Serenity can go into her house.
- Sea Zone has no miniboss. After you leave Ignis's house, the area will now be populated with strange ghost-like enemies, something that Serenity will take note of.
- Serenity must use the lifts to find a door. On the way there, she can obtain Zero's Lament and 2 HP Capsules.
- The main boss of Sea Zone is XYZ (Gun). It resents being trapped in that awful shell by that red headed woman (Scarlet) and remembers Serenity mowing him and his twin self down.
- As such XYZ (pronounced Zweizuh) assumes the form of a gun, considering it an appropriate metaphor for his revenge.
- XYZ has 2 health meters. During it's first phase, it only shoots bullets and fires cutters. Once it reaches Phase 2, it creates a green copy of itself. The XYZs work in tandem and must have both HP bars depleted to end the battle.
- Once defeated, XYZ reverts to it's true form: a seabound spirit. It then tells Serenity that it's sorry for being unable to protect Ignis.
- Serenity leaves and returns to Ignis. Ignis remembers how her parents were slain by a robotic monster (XYZ) who was Scarlet's pet. Serenity tells her that Scarlet must've taken XYZ and converted it into it's machine form.
- Ignis is reluctant to leave her home, scared for her life. Serenity tells her that if she stays here then the Castle Master will ruin the lives of people like her unless she does something.
- A voice calls out to her, begging her for forgiveness. Ignis recognizes it as a sea spirit her parents took her to as a child. At this point, Ignis decides to forgive XYZ and gains her awakened power.
- After the scene ends, Ignis resolves to help Serenity to defeat the Castle Master and can now assist her as an A.I controlled partner. Her sole weapon Zweizuh can morph into multiple forms and can gain levels instantly.
- With Ignis recruited, she can help against the Castle Master, Nexash, Shiori and Lunar Shadow. She'll refuse to go into the Confusion Zone saying it gives her bad vibes.
-
Optional Content (Page 2)
- Three bonus dungeons exist:
- Sea Zone allows you to recruit Ignis who much like Serenity lost her parents to the Castle Master. It's a water based dungeon where the player fights XYZ (Gun form).
- Sanguine Sanctuary is one area connected to the Myst Zone. Here Serenity must venture through a world stained in blood where her Oxygen Aura can't save her and where her Valkyrie Wings are inert. The dungeon lasts 5 rooms and has 2 bosses, one of whom is Shiori, the game's secret boss.
- Zone of Confusion is a surreal area with pink water (reverses controls) and puzzles that test Serenity's resolve, Corridors filled with fatal spikes and Illusions spikes (pink). The player fights Confushias who gives Serenity the Ragna-Cannon. *(The original text mentions Kim Tyranto and the Tyranto Staff, the latter only being mentioned here)
- The Grim Path opens up once you complete the 3 bonus dungeons. At the end is a door that takes you to Bloodstained Moon where Lunar Shadow is fought.
- Boss Arena allows you to fight either the main game's bosses or the game's optional bosses (and Lunar Shadow Soul).
-
Optional Content (Page 1)
- In each area are Life Capsules, which increase Serenity's HP by 2. Collecting them grants Serenity more HP, useful for surviving long battles.(Not available in 1-HP Mode or Boss Arena).
- Various sections of the Lunar Soul Castle are linked together via different areas, they may contain NPCs or enemies.
- Both the Left and Right Towers have an optional boss. The Left Tower has you fight both Micren and Irving in a water filled room. The Right Tower's optional boss is Sycor II. The battle takes place in a spike filled room, with Sycor having some new attacks.
- Serenity can obtain three secret weapons: Vorpal Sword, Crescent Cutters and Zero's Lament:
- The Vorpal Sword is made by fusing Misery's End with the Vorpal Queen (found in the Clock Tower). It's a sword that can fire beams.
- The Crescent Cutters are made by fusing the Lunar Sickle with the Sun Filter (found in the Password Room).
- Zero's Lament is found in the Sea Zone. It's useless and does nothing though it can 1HKO the Castle Master.
-
The next bit covers the Post-Game section which is only 11 pages long. Without the cover, it's only 10 pages long or less depending on the formatting used here.

Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 13: Top Floor (Final Battle)
- THE FINAL BATTLE
- Serenity finally faces off against the Castle Master. She makes it clear that he's done much wrong, that he's killed her parents, that he's corrupted Aidan's soul and made Newerth worship him as a false god.
- Ashen's motive for becoming Castle Master was that his talents were unappreciated and that he was picked on by other students. As far as he's concerned, it matters little if Newerth dies because he hates them all anyway.
- If Serenity wears the Dark Armour, she gets the Forced Betrayal ending. If not, the final battle begins.
- [Phase 1] Ashen uses Emerald fire and summons dark orbs. He teleports frequently and can use red thunder once he loses half HP.
- [Phase 2] Ashen transforms into The Eternal Darkness. T.E.D rams Serenity, can call laser beams from the skies, use red thunder and slice with his keyblade. Poisonous gas fills the room but Serenity's Oxygen Aura protects her.
- [Phase 3] Deathorb MK: II appears. Damage the circular saws then go for the mech itself. It can either move around the room (with blades close), extend the saws out or rotate them out.
- [Phase 4] Now broken, the Deathorb MK: II bounces around, hoping to crush Serenity. Avoid the shockwaves and aim for the cockpit.
- It's over. The Castle Master is no more. You can either absorb the Castle Master's soul and take Ashen's place (Castle Master Serenity) or destroy the Castle Master's soul (End of Darkness).
- If you destroyed the Castle Master's Soul, you then escape using each of the Warp Rooms in reverse order. After that, cue ending and credits.

Page 12: Top Floor (Layer 1)
- TOP FLOOR (LAYER 1)
- The final area. There's a save point and a Warp Door in this room. It leads to Top Floor CZ (where the Zone of Confusion can be accessed) and Azehr's boss room.
- Azehr is the last boss standing in Serenity path to T.E.D. He has 4 forms (similar to Bodysnatcher/Bandersnatch) and can turn invisible at will. He introduces himself, claiming that Sycor and Grialdyn were inferior prototypes to his design. Upon his defeat, he gloats that T.E.D will win but never create any machine better than him.
- Upon Azehr's defeat, the player can turn back or venture forward into the Top Floor Warp Room. As promised, Shinica is there and teaches you Thundaga. You also gain the Arcanum (fully powered and loaded).
- You can fight the Castle Master now or go off on a detour to other parts of the Castle.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 11: Top Floor (Layer 2)
- TOP FLOOR (LAYER 2)
- The dungeon is the same as the original Top Floor. However, the player fights Ataraxis instead of Azehr and so Top Floor has far less rooms. Alexis's boss room is replaced with a Weapon Forger who can create the Vorpal Sword and the Crescent Cutter (covered in Optional Content).
- Ataraxis is an evil clone of Serenity; she had jet black skin and wears the Blood Queen outfit. The Dark Armour renders her immortal hence why Serenity has to drain her HP several times before Ataraxis uses the Castle Master's power. Her new fiendish form grants her an aura resembling The Eternal Darkness, though she's now mortal.
- Ataraxis dies. She laughs before gloating that The Eternal Darkness will destroy all of Newerth.
- A Warp Door now appears. Grab the Dark Armour which can be equipped at the final boss for the Forced Betrayal ending.
- Serenity then backtracks to a previously sealed off area.
- Serenity then encounters both Shinica and Scarlet. They stay here under the Castle Master's orders but decide revenge is the best option. In other words, it's Serenity vs Shinica and Scarlet.
- The duo are defeated but Serenity won't kill them. Shinica turns her back on the Castle Master and tells Serenity she'll meet her at the Top Room Warp Floor. Scarlet decides to return t the Servant Quarters, telling T.E.D to burn in hell.
- The second Layer 2 Warp Door opens. T.E.D loses it and goes a profanity laden rant about the betrayal than just happened.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 10: Top Floor (Layer 3)
ACT 3:
- TOP LAYER (LAYER 3)
- It's on! The Top Floor is split into 3 parts with 2 Warp Doors each. Right before the Castle Master is the Top Floor's Warp Room. It has door for each part of the Top Floor, Warp Doors for the Outer Warp Room, the Laboratory Warp Room, the Tower Warp Room, the Servant Warp Door and Warp Doors for Sea Zone, Zone of Confusion and Sanguine Sanctuary.
- Top Floor (Layer 3) is a miniboss rush (ala Kirby's Adventure miniboss tower or Kirby: Return to Dreamland's miniboss tower/Kirby Super Star Ultra's Planet Mechat) where Serenity fights upgraded minibosses in this order: Twin Xyx, Leviathan, Bandersnatch, Necrosis, Corrupted Tranquility and Corrupted Repose.
- The first Layer 3 Warp Door appears after Bandersnatch falls. The second appears once Alexis is defeated.
- Upon reaching Alexis, Serenity asks if she's responsible for the upgraded minibosses. Alexis confirms she isn't a necromancer and that the Castle Master revived them.
- It turns out that the Castle Master is Ashen Flamberge, an engineering student who a few years ago went off to slay the previous Castle Master alongside his sister. He gave into the Castle Master's power and so she stays out of loyalty.
- Serenity knows that the Castle Master has taken a lot away and so she must fight to avenge her family.
- Alexis has 2 phases: in Phase 1 she fights normally by using thunderbolts, charging at Serenity and dropping down to summon energy orbs. Phase 2 has her use the Castle Master's power. It transforms her into a fiend with an aura resembling her brother Aidan.
- Alexis is defeated. Serenity offers to help her free Aidan only to be rebuffed. Aidan must die with the Castle Master and so Alexis commits suicide.
- The second Layer 3 Warp Door opens. The Castle Master is upset but then starts acting strangely, claiming to be The Eternal Darkness. Serenity claims that she'll end all this needless suffering.

Page 9: Servant Quarters
- SERVANT QUARTERS
- Serenity is here! Now in the Servant Quarters, she'll have to fight or avoid the various Servants. If she has the Servant's Outfit, the Servants will refuse to attack and may offer hints.
- To unlock the door leading to the upper area, Serenity will need to insert the Sun, Day, Moon and Night Emblems into the correct terminals. Get it wrong and Serenity is impaled by fatal spikes.
- At the left is the Password Room. It can be used to unlock the Sea Zone, Zone of Confusion T and Myst Zone T. It also has the Sun Filter (needed to fuse with the Lunar Sickle).
- At the right is a room where downward is a Rest Room, containing the Warp Door for Servant Quarters and a Save Point. Upward leads to a room with musky poisonous air. Thankfully Serenity's Oxygen Aura protects her.
- Suddenly a giant green tank shows up. It is the source of the poisonous gas and attacks. Valkyrie X is the only boss of Servant Quarters and hits hard. However the Lunar Sickle will come in handy.
- Valkyrie X is deactivated. It turns out the tank has Valkyrie Horton as it's power source. Serenity and her mother have a reunion before Serenity is forced to kill her. The constant pain Valkyrie is put through has destroyed her will to live. You can die here to obtain the Mother and Child ending or kill her to continue the story.
- Valkyrie has her last words, then grants her daughter the ability to fly. With Valkyrie's Soul, Serenity can now fly. Use this to move quickly and obtain previously unobtainable items.
- Serenity warns the player to save before venturing to the final section of the Lunar Soul Castle.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 8: Centre Tower
- CENTRE TOWER
- With both Left and Right Tower conquered, all 3 doors are present. A new path at the top opens up..
- Serenity ventures into a ghostly white room with a Warp Room at the right and a Clock Room at the left.
- The Warp Room contains the Warp Doors for all 3 sections of the Tower and two doors for the Outer Warp Room and the Laboratory Warp Room.
- The Clock Room is optional. Here you can either make Grialdyn invisible (night) or visible (day) via the Clock Switch. There are also 3 treasures, one of which is the Vorpal Queen (a dark weapon that cannot be used but can be fused with Misery's End, covered in Optional Content)
- Shinica tells Serenity that the Castle Master was interested in this ancient security system and hopes it'll kill Serenity.
- Grialdyn appears, introducing itself. The dialogue changes slightly if he's invisible. Either way, Serenity must do battle with Grialdyn and it's the toughest battle in ACT 2 so prepare.
- Grialdyn is defeated and burns up, exploding. This gives Shinica burns which can be cured with a Life Pot (if you still have it).
- The Castle Master speaks, wondering how Serenity could have defeated Grialdyn. Serenity bites back, telling the Castle Master that she will defeat them. This concludes ACT 2, with the game asking if the player wishes to save or not.

Page 7: Right Tower
- RIGHT TOWER
- Serenity goes right. The tower has red tron lines and has various burning floors that will damage Serenity on contact. In addition, fatal spikes appear and will 1HKO Serenity on contact.
- Serenity encounters the Right Tower miniboss Tranquillity, a girl whose skin is slightly darker and looks like a bride. Upon her death, she reveals herself to be a clone created from Valkyrie's DNA.
- After Tranquillity's death, Serenity ventures into a room with several terminals. These terminals can be used to change Sycor's battle theme. Sycor II is optional (covered in the Optional Content section).
- Serenity ignores the optional room to her right and ventures upwards into a short maze-like room (with optional goodies). Go up to the room at the upper right.
- Scarlet is here, gleeful at the opportunity to immolate you. She's mad that you killed her pets XYZ, Micren and Irving, the latter she loaned to Shinica. When asked about Tranquillity, she tells Serenity that Tranquillity was defective.
- Scarlet is defeated and swears revenge. Serenity nabs the Moon Emblem and a door to the Tower opens up.
- Once the Right Tower is conquered, there will be two doors: one of the Centre Tower and one for the Right Tower.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 6: Left Tower
- LEFT TOWER
- Serenity goes left. The tower has blue tron lines and has various electrical floors that will damage Serenity on contact. In addition, fatal spikes appear and will 1HKO Serenity on contact.
- Serenity encounters the Left Tower miniboss Repose, a girl who is a dark skinned clone of Serenity with scars. Upon her death, she reveals that Valkyrie's DNA was used to create clones of her.
- After Repose's demise, Serenity ventures into a room with several terminals. These terminals change the music playing during the fight with Irving and Micren. The Twin Bioweapons fight is optional. (covered in the Optional Content section)
- Serenity ignores the optional room to her left and ventures upwards into a short maze-like room (which has optional goodies).
- Shinica is here, but is now questioning herself. She decides to fight Serenity to avenge Repose's death and for her pride.
- Shinica leaves, swearing revenge. Serenity ends up gaining the Sun Emblem and a door to the Tower opens up.
- Once the Left Tower is conquered, there will be two doors: one of the Centre Tower and one for the Left Tower.
-

Page 6: Tower
ACT 2:- TOWER
- Serenity starts out in the Tower which requires her to work her way upwards.
- Once she reaches the top, she'll find a save point. After that, she fights the fourth miniboss Tiamat who breathes fire and can split into 2 smaller dragons.
- Once Tiamat falls, the player can choose between the Left Tower and the Right Tower. Where Tiamat once stood is now the Warp Door for the Tower (Centre).
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 5: Laboratory
- LABORATORY
- The Laboratory appears mostly abandoned, with spikes and enemies being the main feature.
- Serenity goes further, eventually reaching a room which has multiple bodies.
- The third miniboss Bodysnatcher has a special gimmick: when it's defeated, it switches to a stronger body. Destroy all 4 bodies to end the fight.
- Further in, Serenity has to deal with coloured water (with differing effects), spikes and enemies. Fortunately, Serenity gains a new weapon. One which creates projectiles that reflect off enemies.
- Much to Serenity (and the player)'s relief, the Laboratory has a Warp Room. Use it to return to the Outer Warp Room or the Warp Doors leading to the Entrance or Reservoir. The Warp Door for the Laboratory is also here.
- The player leaves the Warp Room and ventures upward. Shinica greets Serenity before gloating that Sycor will make short work of her.
- Sycor introduces himself before challenging Serenity to a fight. Sycor is Act 1's hardest boss and will crush those who come unprepared.
- Once Sycor goes down, he'll reveal that the Castle Master plans to create a mechanical army that'll raze Newerth to the ground.
- Serenity reminds the player to save, fearing the worst up ahead.
- Turns out there's a trap ahead rigged to activate should Sycor fall.
- Once Serenity escapes the Laboratory, the Castle Master, speaks revealing that he knows a lot about Serenity. This concludes ACT 1, with the game asking you if you want to save.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 4: Reservoir
- RESERVOIR
- Serenity can now venture into the Reservoir which has a lot of water.
- The Oxygan Aura (formerly Air Tank) can be learned, allowing Serenity to breath underwater indefinitely.
- Serenity comes across a tunnel, which houses Micren, the game's second miniboss and one of the Twin-Bio Weapons.
- After the Micren battle, Serenity can explore some more. She'll eventually fall into another room.
- Shinica appears and then Irving shows up. She tries to use Tri-Thundaga only to anger Irving (instead of doing nothing originally).
- The player obtains Misery's End, a pink knife-like weapon that creates energy projectiles to damage foes.
- The player fights Irving with their new weapon. Serenity must make use of the air vents to avoid Irving and strike him when his mouth opens.
- The Laboratory can now be accessed, though Serenity can also access the Reservoir's Warp Door.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow
Page 3: Ideas Changes/Entrance
- The final boss goes from Aidan -> Deathorb MK: II (1-3 Phases) to Ashen Flamberge -> The Eternal Darkness -> Deathorb MK: II (Buzzsaws)
- Aidan uses the Muscle Doctor's A.I, T.E.D uses Ballos 1's A.I and both phases of Deathorb MK:II use Ballos 3 and Ballos 2's A.I.
- The game has multiple endings: One for turning left at the start (Serenity Turns Back), for dying to Valkyrie Horton (Mother and Child), wearing the Dark Armour at the final boss (Forced Betrayal), choosing to absorb the Castle Master's Soul instead of destroying it (Castle Master Serenity)*, destroying the Castle Master's soul (End of Darkness), losing to Lunar Shadow (The Greater Evil)* and defeating Lunar Shadow (End of Lunar Shadow)*.
- * = New Endings
- The game is seperated into 3 acts.
ACT 1:
- ENTRANCE
- Serenity makes her move, venturing inside the castle (Entrance).
- Fight with Xyz, game's first mini-boss.
- More exploration around the Entrance.
- Serenity fights Shinica, the latter having sent Scarlet (formerly Crimdine) away via Thundaga. The player gains the Map as a reward.
- Next area is accessable, though Serenity can access Entrance's Warp Door.
-
Parallel Lunar Shadow Page 2
Ideas/Changes
- Sycor, Grialdyn and Azehr are now more connected. Grialdyn and Azehr were made by the Castle Master to created advanced guardians, ones that could turn invisible and absorb darkness.
- Sycor can turn invisible but cannot absorb darkness. Though it can fire energy blasts and use it's orbitars to reduce received damage. However turning it's orbitars from green to orange increases received damage. It's invisibility automatically occurs after using a certain attack.
- Grialdyn was once it became clear that Sycor's powers weren't as advanced as first thought. The Castle Master had taken an ancient defence system and updated it to enhance it's power. It can turn invisible, absorb darkness and use it's orbitars to attack below it. It can only be damaged once it's chest glows.
- Azehr was the finalized version of Project Fadeaway which was to create a perfect mechanical guardian who can go invisible at will. Azehr also had the power to alter the time of day (i.e from Day, Midday, Night, Midnight), which it could manifest by switching between it's forms. Unlike Grialdyn whose visibility could be affected by a switch, Azehr could go truly invisible at will.
- Sycor and Grialdyn now have divergent designs. Of course, all the major characters will be getting redesigns.
- The Lunar Soul Castle will be redesigned with several of the rooms being reordered or changed outright.
- The story will be expanded upon because Parallel Lunar Shadow has no official prequels.
-
This is going to be a long thread so please bear with me. This covers the first draft for "Parallel Lunar Shadow" which started from an idea to finish Lunar Shadow back when "Kim Tyranto" (aka Cibryll) was absent for 2 years and nobody was sure if she was ever coming back or not. As such, most of the content was created long before I had a better understand of how Cave Story modding worked and before my work on the Lunar Shadow Wiki hence why it lacks some things from the actual mod.
That said, this is a long thread so each post will be cover the various sections of both booklets starting with the first one.
