So a few weeks ago, the English translation for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2: Professional was finally completed and can be downloaded here (https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonquest/comments/1uzg8ev/dqm_joker_2_pro_in_english_is_complete_go_play_it/?solution=641faa948c7002df641faa948c7002df&js_challenge=1&token=7afd7253fec22262ff1c52b1703fe9ec95bdbb5479eead048329a167db9dc399&jsc_orig_r=).

Dragon Quest XIII: A Future to the Past
Starring a big bad named Xehanort, his council of 13 evil councilors, and a plot focusing on time travel between a high tech future world and an ancient historic world, in an effort to revive the proper history of the world.
Oh, and gas mask bunny girls in opaque tights and evening gloves.
-
There aren't any classes that use poison gas, I think, so I prefer ones who wield one katana.
With that said, I would love it if we got a Dragon Quest that takes place in a more futuristic world.
More swords. Neat. That said, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker is somewhat close to that premise, though a more futuristic Dragon Quest would be best kept for a spin-off.

I would like to be a warrior, or any class that can duel-wield shortswords.
You have great taste in weaponry.

out of the classes in iii, the merchant.
vi, the ranger.
vii, the druid.
ix, the ranger.
-
Probably.
I generally go for thief where possible.
It's my favourite video game class, generally.
Failing that, assassin (or whatever's the closest equivalent).
As for me, I have a preference for Warrior/Knight/Paladin classes.

I take it that you're a Mage then?

She is not exaggerating on that part.
The sight of actual blood - not fake blood, like on cartoons or games - is enough to make her faint, if there is enough.
At any rate, I prefer jobs that wield whips.
-
I'd make a terrible healer.
Actual blood makes me feel all queasy. ;-;

I don't see anything wrong with having a custom outfit combining both Gadabout and Sage and maybe even having a few additions and personalizations that Cib would love.
But would Cib really be suited to being a Sage?
Sages are quite versatile with magic and Cibryll loves magic, doesn't she? Also they're the best healer you can ask for, and I highly doubt Cibryll would let herself and her allies take severe damage on the battlefield.
-
Nope~ :3
Sages are supposed to be wise, right?
Cibrylls are. Like. The total opposite.
-

I think Gadabouts don't need an item to "evolve" into Sages, though?
Gadabouts only need to be Lv.20, which is neat if you're looking to get a Sage early. Otherwise you have to be Lv.20 and have a Word of Wisdom available, and there aren't many of those in DQ3.

So what I'm understanding is that I should start out as a bunny girl in tacky fishnet tights and train up enough until I can become a lovely lady in evening gloves but no hosiery whatsoever?
This is an outfit thing, isn't it? You don't have to start as a Gadabout. It all depends on what skills you want to have and then becoming a Sage once you've maxed out your current class.

Charlie would probably be classified as a Jester (DQ3) than a Sage.
I think Cibryll would actually do well as a Sage.

maybe if it was something like "terrable" and had earth-based magic!

And let's not forget Fluffy the Terrible :p

It would be nice if a future remake of Dragon Quest IX brings Styrmling (https://dragonquest.fandom.com/wiki/Styrmling) to the game, among other things.
With that said, I've seen rumours about Styrmling having been in DQIX all along, in the form of Sterling. That's a theory I like.
I could see that happening in the form of a sidequest. Personally I would like to see more Legacy Bosses from both the main series (e.g Hargon, Ashtaroth, Negel (and the rest of the DQX final bosses), Mordegon and Calasmos) and also the spinoffs (e.g Fractos Unfettered, Dr. Snapped, Shadroth and Xiphos the Deathbringer,) as well.

It turns out that Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D was released not so long ago. It has a few new story mode bosses, and even brings back the superbosses from the previous remakes. Remakes for the first two games are also confirmed to be released for the Nintendo Switch next year.
-
Huh (https://twitter.com/Stealth40k/status/1600525622316605442).
I didn't even know that there was gonna be a DQ3 HD-2D thing.
Square Enix seem to be been real quite about that. Hopefully, it'll also contain the exclusive content from the SNES and GBC versions.

Same can't be said about "Solatorobo - Red the Hunter", though.
Any DLC quests the game might've had, are lost... forever.
Unless they're Action Replay-addable or something.
Though, I think either the US or EU version removed the Quest Download thing, so who knows.
-
...... I had to read that twice because my phone's font makes it look like "flattened".
And both.
(I used some save editor just for unlocking the DLC content and for the stuff you'd need Wi-Fi for. After clearing the main game, mind.)
Well yeah, it is a pain to unlock the DLC quests legitimately now. Fortunately as a kid, I was able to download all the DLC Quests (unlike Gen 4's Mystery Gift which I never obtained).

I got me a wulfspade!
(I nicknamed 'em King.)
So... now I'm hoping to deal with DQ9 quests. (Styrmling, why aren't you even a boss... :'( )
Named it after me, huh? Consider me flattered then.
Also are the DQ9 quests the regular ones or the DLC ones?

True that!
Then there's the times search engines decide to troll you...
So.
We will wage war with Wynne Warwick!
Wait, who--
* gets Frizzled *

When in doubt, ask Google (then roo).
I'll try every rainy area, though Eugene (old-timer) appears on rainy Treepidation for me, so... maybe it's random?
Though sometimes search engines can't help, leaving you with the option of contributing the info yourself. For example, I contributed to the Dragon Quest Wiki by adding info about Memories Lane (and it's bosses) because nobody else was doing it. Fortunately videos of the dungeon and it's bosses were already there so I just had to write down what was there.

Yeah.
Diamagon ace was at sunny Doubtback.
Cluboon ace, at misty Unshore.
Hawkhart ace, at sunny Treepidation.
Wulfspade ace, not yet found.
I think the weather plays a huge part with the Incarnus "gates"...
I was looking up the location and I think Wulfspade Ace's weather is rainy if the video I found was correct.

That Incarnus hunt in DQMJ2 is tough...
Only got like three (the Diamagon, Cluboon, and Hawkhart aces) defeated and trying to find the next.
And then... to get my Slime XY to Level 50. Joy.
I've never played Joker 2 but I've played the first game. Honestly, it's tough and time consuming trying to get the Rank S/X monsters because unlike Shin Megami Tensei, the game doesn't allow you to buy back any monsters you've already fused.
Back to the Incarnus hunt though, I take that you're trying to find Wulfspade Ace?

So did Charlotte ever get past the ghost ship? A question that may never be answered. Also Dragon Quest XI's switch port added in a new superboss: Timewyrm. It's even stronger than End of Time, who was the game's strongest boss in the 3DS version.
-
UNLESS...
This was Square Enix's plan all along and Styrmling will appear in a future DQ9 remake as the true final boss WITH Barbarus and Greygnarl, AND they end up fusing into one vicious dragon!
... WTF that's crazy. O_o
I'm sure that Styrmling does appear in the 3DS remake of Dragon Quest Monsters 1. Though he doesn't resemble Greygnarl or Barbarus. Then again, the Legacy Bosses could have included the final bosses from the spin-off games as well.

* cut to him dropping... Greygnarl's Skull instead *
* ... with a map to Styrmling's grotto, somehow - they and Barbarus are related *
Pity we never got to see Styrmling.
I agree, it would have been great in Styrmling had been an actual boss instead of mere bestiary lore.

Bzzzzzzt!
Wrong.
I think. The Almiraj (DQ3) looks like a rabbit. So does the Bunicorn (DQ5).
Thank you for playing in this quiz. :3
* cue trap door to Greygnarl's grotto *
Nice. Now I shall fight Greygnarl! (and hope that he'll drop Dragon Lord's map).

Despite being able to exhale sleeping gas at will? And a corrupted flower dragon's sleeping gas is slightly toxic.
That's how Valkyrie Zylle Horton became poisoned, in LS ZER0...
Are there bunny monsters?
Well that wouldn't be a problem, if you'd be willing to transfer your Flower Dragon powers over to me.
And no, not that I know of.

Nah.
Too slimy. :P
Besides, heavy metal slimes are a thing we need.
They're heavy and LOVE heavy metal. >:-)
Just no flower dragons.
Remember Dragon Quest Monsters 2 Professional? That game had a Liquid Metal Slime King. Very heavy metal. :3
If you don't want the Flower Dragons, then I shall keep them. They'd make a powerful ally under my power.

Melfice...
I think I could nickname a sword monster that, if I find any.
Like.
A Slime? Easy: Goomy.
A Platypunk? Perry.
A Faerie? ... Do those even exist in DQ Monsters?
Couldn't you just get a bunch of slimes, name them all Goomy, then use them to create a King Slime?

Or Grandia 2.
I think Shane once used Ryudo face pics as an avatar?
Probably, may have happened on one of his Pre-Vresun forums. Also Melfice was mentioned once or twice during the Vresun era, I think.

Dragon Warrior III (GB).
She says old games have this charm about them.
I suppose that's true. The PS2 actually has a lot of great games that most people wouldn't know about (such as The Bouncer or Gungrave).

While being queen of Romaly, at that.
(I wanna help, but this phone won't let me access GameFAQs and so, all I can do, is ask why Charlotte's got so many Jesters. Her whole party's female.)
Platinum king jewels would help a lot.
So which version of Dragon Quest 3 is Charlotte playing?

That's what everyone said, but she's got her head in the clouds, saying "Thanks, but I'll figure it out myself, and if it means my party's at max level, then so be it!"
With a smile.
Not pictured: Baramos having to explain to Zoma why he surrendered to a Lv.99 Charlotte Seymour and her party.

With Charlotte stuck on the ghost ship, I doubt she'll get THAT far though.
Ooh, is that a Greygnarl medal?
A trap, probably. :(
Couldn't Charlotte just use her phone to look up a walkthrough or something? That's what I did when looking for Final Fantasy X info (yes, Sin's final phase is quite difficult due to it's Giga Graviton attack.)
-

Cut to Greygnarl and Estark having an epic showdown worthy of a "what in blooming blue blazes!?" :P
What's the point of DQ3's medals? Why does DQ0 not exist?
Or a huge crossover like with Final Fantasy's games had (Dissidia, I think?)...
I think the medals were added in the GBC version of Dragon Quest III. Collecting all of the Bronze and Silver Medals allows you to fight GranDragn (Grand Dragon) who was basically a golden version of Orochi/King Hydra. Talking to him after obtaining all Gold Medals causes him to fall asleep. Yeah.

It's a shame that Dragon Quest IX's multiplayer is inaccessible (due to Nintendo Wifi being gone) because we could go on epic adventures, down in various grottos (and yes, Greygnarl is the only Grotto boss I've yet to fight).
But yeah, Dragon Quest VIII got a 3DS remake at some point and honestly, the Memories Lane dungeon is the most interesting thing they added. And yes, Estark is the last boss you fight there (after defeating beefed up versions of some of the main story bosses, which practically requires you to be at Lv.99 to stand a chance).
-
Discuss here the franchise with all sorts of puns.
I mean. Really? "Wight Knight"? "Uncommon cold"? "Charmour"?
"I've got NO clue what to do on that ship in Dragon Warrior 3, and that's just the beginning," quoted from Charlotte.
(The series was once named "Dragon Warrior".)
