Disposal / Re: Chill out and chat
« on: 11 August 2023, 20:35:56 »
The time to deal with the backlog of replies has come, so it may take quite a while to go through it all.
I will be doing this in multiple posts, to avoid the incessant nature of unknown character limitations.

(click to show/hide)
It's done now, and you two seem to be on better terms so I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like your former workplace was being stretched thin, hence why Cibryll was in what I presume was a volunteering job, probably because none of the parents wanted to volunteer themselves.

Cibryll does not have a foot fetish confirmed. Also does this mean that Cibryll hates her own feet and that's why she insists on wearing stockings all the time.

I'm sure RKS is doing the best to combat either debilitating shyness or a possible life of mutism.

The Aeonian Night was a already strange enough event on it's own. A second one is not something any of us would be ready for.

XSP Multiverse / Lunar Shadow~ The Gauntlet
« on: 13 February 2022, 14:58:16 »
The Announcements Timeline

That's a shame. I could consider making a custom entity just to see if it'd possible but I'm still working on the Custom Boss Rush for my Lunar Shadow copy.  But back to Cleopatre: by optional boss, I mean like WarMech from Final Fantasy/SaGa 1 and 2. In which Cleo is an enemy whose power rivals the game's bosses but isn't a "true" boss so to speak.

Also I've been hearing about a lot of these statues so it'd be interesting to actually see them in Apocalyptic Shadow. I'll also consider suggesting more names for Lunar Shadow enemies who don't already have them.
For the modding side project I did, I did spend time listening to several versions of that theme. I ended up going with the Castlevania Judgement version because I wanted the music to sound consistent.

My side project takes place in an alternate timeline (and is non-canon anyway). Once I've released it here, I've got a lot of pages on the wiki to update.

So during Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, the true final boss Chaos is revealed to be the source of power for Dracula. The second form has 4 eyes that when taken out, lower the core's defences. Also an invincible dragon that moves around as well. If you're strong enough, you can just attack the core to finish the fight.

Re-watching that fight a week or so ago actually managed to help me move forward in my side project because the Gold Arena's final boss uses a similar premise for it's first form.

Now that I think about it, and considering that Lunar Shadow is designed after Castlevania, maybe the Confusion Zone could reference Aria of Sorrow's Chaotic Realm?

I needed that for the side project I'm working on; though of course in it, Serenity defeats Nemesis and Invidia first, then Aidan before perishing. The bonus dungeon has alternate versions of the characters from different timelines that can be talked to.

I hope it's accurate, you and RKS are the ones who developed the XSP canon to begin with.

For now, it's mostly just me gathering small ideas while I finish the side project (which won't get it's own thread until I'm finished with it),
So far we've got:
  • I've considered redesigning Mechanto Force's battle forms. Instead of being faster versions of the first 3 bosses, the boss has an original design (it's forms have the same colours) and uses the attacks of the first 3 bosses. (Missiles for War Machine, fire for Diamond Dogs and the Nega Rainbow Beam/Laser Planes for Big Boy). And yes, you'll still fight the full 7 forms in Mechanto Mode.
  • An item that allows you to peacefully deal with bosses. I figured if the final boss was going to give the good ending by you sparing them, then having a concept that enforces this would make it easier. Dealing with bosses peacefully allows you to complete the area and access the next sector; you won't obtain that boss's weapon unless you fight them. It won't work on the final bosses or the EX bosses.
  • I might use the <CRE script to create an extended intro for the mod.

As long as you're having fun with this, I'm sure you can do great things. If it makes you feel better, my side project mostly reuses assets as well.

I just thought it was kinda personal. If you're fine with it, I'll see what I can do (since the bonus dungeon in my side project does use the Reservoir maps).
*embraces hug*
Looking good. I won't be joining DRPF just yet because there's a lot I want to do such as finishing Cave Story mods. Side project is going well. All bonus dungeon bosses have been scripted. The rewards are all obtainable. I'm currently testing out the Platinum Arena (which yes I will be using copies of the boss maps for.) Also got dialogue to write and things to change. It's going well.
I sure she understands. Depending on the character, you might easily surpass that number or fail to meet it. For example, Renko Hikawa is a rather obscure so finding of images of her would be hard. Wheras a character like Madoka Kaname would be easier because she's more well known.

In regards to bosses, there is one last one I need to get done for the side project. You'll know who they are when you fight them.
EDIT: Also the weather seems to have improved on my side, it's now sunny! Yay.

* I will be updating this thread once I've gotten to a point where I can release the mod. The post in question will have spoilers, so be warned.*

King (2.0)'s Garden / King (2.0)'s Games Log
« on: 09 January 2022, 14:49:50 »
Current games I'm playing:
  • R-Type Final
  • Looney Tunes: Cartoon Conductor
R-Type Final is pretty hard and I'm playing it on Human (i.e Normal) difficulty. So far, I've only made it up to Stage 4. Stage 1 is reasonable, Stage 2 is bullshit in terms of difficulty, though it's weather gimmick makes it worth replaying, Stage 3 is easier than Stage 2 but dear god can the projectiles get overwhelming sometimes.
Unlocking new ships is fun, and it does give you incentive to play with different ships.

Looney Tunes: Cartoon Conductor's graphics aren't too shabby and the gameplay is similar to Osu. I'm playing in on Conductor (Normal) difficulty and thankfully the game isn't too punishing when it comes to mistakes. I think Duck Amuck was better but I'll give this one a chance and see it through.

I'm also considering playing Lunar Knights but we'll see.

XSP Multiverse / Parallel Lunar Shadow.
« on: 23 January 2021, 14:33:56 »
This is going to be a long thread so please bear with me. This covers the first draft for "Parallel Lunar Shadow" which started from an idea to finish Lunar Shadow back when "Kim Tyranto" (aka Cibryll) was absent for 2 years and nobody was sure if she was ever coming back or not. As such, most of the content was created long before I had a better understand of how Cave Story modding worked and before my work on the Lunar Shadow Wiki hence why it lacks some things from the actual mod.

That said, this is a long thread so each post will be cover the various sections of both booklets starting with the first one.

King (2.0)'s Garden / King 2.0's Well Thread
« on: 30 December 2019, 14:55:16 »
It's nice that Kim allowed Well Threads in this place, it kinda feels nostalgic. Like the good old days of Vresun that will never come again.
I'll answer questions that you give unless I consider them too personal. But regardless, welcome to this well.

Serenth / Vresun (planet)
« on: 17 November 2019, 20:43:04 »
Vresun is (or rather was) a planet known as Vresun Ciraian Ruins.

Name: Vresun (formerly Vresun Ciraian Ruins)
Pronunciation: Vereesun, Veroozun, Verezun
ID: #2016 (formerly)/ #D͉̰Â͗T̈ͤ͆Ą ͤ̓҉̜̩C̷̪͂OR̝͔̞̓͐́̚R̗̖ͣͥỮ̹PTĖ͕́D
Appearance: Before the Vresun Apocalypse, the planet was a paradise with a single continent. On the outside, the planet resembled a white orb with various pastel colours covered in what appeared to be glass; the inside looks rather different with it being a white area with various computer circuits which make the entire place look like a giant computer. The lines on the floors and wall often change colour, making it resemble a rainbow. However, it's appearance often does change so it can resemble any location that the 4 Heroes or it's populace so choose.

After the Vresun Apocalypse, the planet fell into ruin. On the outside, it resembles a giant green orb with darker green ripple patterns with an eye in it's centre. The eye has black schlera and a multi-layered iris which is cyan, aquamarine, red and orange, which are the colours of the 4 Heroes of Vresun. On the inside, what was once white is now black yet the pastel colours remain, it's true appearance known to only the 4 Heroes. To anyone else, the inside is a vast desert with red skies and black sand. Buildings and various other things lay strewn about the area, which is filled with Sockpuppets.

Continents: There are 3 continents, with a single moon.
Vresun/Astrum
- Once a paradise where creativity thrived, multiple conflicts tore Vresun apart until an unknown individual destroyed it, much to the opposition of an unknown knight. The 4 Heroes created Astrum from Vresun's remains, though her troubled soul is still alive and fuelled by the conflicts that continue on.
Symfora
- Ruled by Shane and his fiancée Ellen, it's a golden area which houses a large city and various floors with hexagonal patterns. They were at war with Velkyzr until they suddenly vanished.
Velkyzr
- Ruled by Bloom under the guise of Gwyneth, it resembles a country town with a giant tower in the centre. Rankless often appear here, ready to take down intruders. They were at war with Symfora until they suddenly vanished.
Lunar Shadow
- A moon which serves as another civilization, it's empowered by something known as "Lunar Shadow", which has similar powers to Vresun's Core. Despite conflicts there, it was far more peaceful until everyone disappeared. Bloom returned here, though she was pursued by Ellen. Currently, it's short lived peace was replaced by a tentative M.A.D policy.

Status: Astrum is currently inhabitable, with monsters roaming the place. Velkyzr and Symfora were at war until the leaders of both nations suddenly disappeared. Lunar Shadow had suffered the same fate until Bloom Seymour, one of the 4 Heroes had made a miraculous return. Strangely, the population in all areas simply vanished, though nobody knows why.

Theories / Kim Ethnarch Theories
« on: 16 October 2019, 18:22:10 »
One of the new characters, Kim Ethnarch is an important character who appears in Apocalyptic Shadow (Tower).
There are currently NO returning characters so far (excluding statues); this can change...

The final boss is Kim Ethnarch (based on Kim Tyranto), fought at the Eminent Arena at the top.
The true final boss, Qwertyuiop, is preceded by Scarlet Kim Ethnarch.

Areas include the Aizen Ruins (where the Apocalyptic Shadow Tower appeared), the Oblivion Zone, and the Red Hell (which is likely to have multiple bosses).
With this in mind, you might as well post all your theories about the character here.

Entertainment General / Shin Megami Tensei
« on: 06 September 2019, 15:46:53 »
So yeah, a SMT thread. As much as I enjoyed Shin Megami Tensei IV and (the improved) Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse, I really do think that Shin Megami Tensei III: Lucifer's Call is one of the best games in the entire series. Hell, it's one of the best PS2 games, period.
The Magatama system is so intunitive and the demon fusing system while kinda flawed (SMT 4's system is far better because you can actually choose demon skills) also allows you to create many demons (try fusing Metatron without a guide or navigating the Labyrinth of Amala).

The morality choices are also better. Instead of the tired Law/Neutral/Chaos, you have several ideologies to side with, though you can choose to go neutral (Freedom/Demon endings) or just side with Lucifer like I did on my first playthrough (True Demon Ending). If anything, I consider the fight with Lucifer to be one of the best fights in the entire game.

Cave Story Mods / Gun (Cave Story Mod)
« on: 02 September 2019, 19:48:42 »
So I decided to try my hand at this whole Cave Story modding scene. I kinda have to thank Kim for her Lunar Shadow mod, because it's so great.

Now the mod is a short mod, nothing too grand. Your goal is to overcome various obstacles and make your way to the War Machine, who awaits at the bottom with it's eager eye. There are 4 levels in the mod and the Boss Level (War Machine) which has 3 phases.
Hub (Level 0)
- The hub area where the player starts out. The player can use the door to start Level 1 or use the Teleporter to replay any of the levels. if the player ventures into the water, they'll find a path sealed off by Dark Blocks. They can only be destroyed with the WarMach Cannon, which can obtained after beating the War Machine.
Level 1
- The first level, is mostly blue in colour. It's an easy level, with 3 Save Points acting as checkpoints and has 2 sections where you ride a lift across a pit of fatal spikes.
Level 2
- The second level, is red in colour. Introduces lava and has many spikes. At various points, a stream of lava will block the way, forcing you to go around. There are pits with fatal spikes that can be jumped over, as well as flying foes to deal with.
Level 3
- The third level, is purple in colour. Uses both lava and water as well as fatal spikes. Twice you'll be required to swim in water, with the second time forcing you to venture around an area with spikes.
Level 4
-A short horizonal level with checkerboard walls and a yellowish sky. The walls are lined with spikes, and you'll have to land on platforms and deal with enemies. There's also a brief water section with spikes and Mini-Presses.
BOSS: War Machine (Uses Monster X's sprites and A.I)
- Fights the player in 3 identical bodies, with the terrain varying in each phase. Phase 1 is normal terrain, Phase 2 has lava and Phase 3 is fought underwater.

Also each level has a shortcut that is blocked off by Dark Blocks.
