Talk about obscure video games here. Or not-obscure games. :3
Anyone heard of a game called "Overgod"? It has ships and aliens and power-ups and 2-player mode :3
Or "Aquaria" or "Peggle" or "Paper Bowser: Get Revenge on Mario" or "Little Fighter 2" or "Draglade" or "SaGa 3"? :3
-
Anybody heard if LOVE? It's a nice Atari style platformer, which goal is to get to the end as fast as possible, and lose as few lives as possible. There are easy mode, with unlimited lives, normal mode with 100 lives, YOLO mode which is littelary means you only live once, ore 1 live, speedrun mode, where you have unlimited lives and the time matters and remix mode, with new stages simmilar to the previous one.

I'd like to recommend 5089, it's a surreal action-RPG taking place on some alien planet occupied by two factions of robots engaged in a perpetual artificial war.
-
I'd like to recommend Lunar Shadow. :P
Seriously, though, I recommend Chalk. It's simple, yes, but I played that game JUST for the music :))
(That last stage was difficult though.)
Also, Frozzd. It's another neat game, if a bit hard for some...
-
I actually played Frozzd a long time ago when it first came out, it's awesome ^.^

I'd recommend Grandia 2 (PC RPG - has blood though). Though not freeware, it's a cool RPG. The battle music is just epic~
Plus there's scary foes (Eyeball Bats? Skull Snails? Brain Bats? MOST MAJOR BOSSES?).
Any freeware games for under 300MB that you guys could recommend?
-
Momodora 1 and 2 are games that are free and are very simmilar to Cave Story. Also there is Momodora 3 and Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight which are not free and available at Steam. This is the franchise I just know that you would like to see the LS project to become :)

Could anyone recommend a video game for a person who has never played a video game before in her entire life?

It depends. What sistem you wanna play and what do you preffer: Story-oriented or Gameplay-oriented?
-
PC; I don't mind either orientation, at the moment. Story or gameplay… both would be new to me.
-
Well, there is the mather if you preffer mature game or light-hearted...
Tell you what, why don't you try cave story. This forum is around a Cave Story mod after all, so...
it's free, just go to Cavestory.org and download the Dave Story Deluxe pack, or spend a few bucks fo Cave Story +... Nah, don't do that, it's too expensive. I recomend bying it like i did... For a single dollar
Go download the free version, you'll like it... I hope
-
There's also the freeware La-Mulana (which has a non-freeware remake which changes stuff up a lot).
Knytt and Knytt Stories are both freeware, too.
Or you could always try the Chzo Mythos games if you want to play something horrific.
Then, there's NetHack (the first game I've ever played), which is difficult as fudge. (I hate swearing.)
I'd also recommend Stair Dismount and Truck Dismount, though those games, I'm not sure on their status (free? non-free?) at the time.
Battle for Wesnoth can also work, if you don't mind RTS-like games.

Little Fighter 2.
How has this not been mentioned?

I've heard only of those in bold.
… a "Little Fighter 2: Lunar Shadow" edition would be more girls than guys.

That should be a thing. Or maybe Vresun Edition. Or SCSF + The Battle Fora + DRPF + Vresun Fora + LSF + Symfora Fora version of Little Fighter. That'd be sick.

Oneshot is a pretty interesting game in the manner that, well, you have one shot to beat it. If you open the window play a little with the character and then close it, the character is dead... And you won't have any chance to play the game again.
It's an RPG Maker 2003 game and it's free. Some people might be interested,

Aichuu! is a really cool rhythm game you can only get in APK form outside Japan.

Voy a tratar de usar un sitio de la traducción a continuación. Es lo mejor que puedo hacer.
I'll try to use a translation site below. It's the best I can do.
Only the amount of video games you develop, anyway? I see this whole forum is full of video games. Surely you have a lot of skill and experience creating games, then?

I would like a role playing game with a twist: you get to play as the antagonist whose objective is world domination.
No gas masks because of what I've seen, several members here seem fetishize things. Same with gloves and socks. Seriously, what girls are a bunch of weirdos.

So... has anyone heard of an RPG Maker game called "Homework Salesman"?
It's an RPG with a female protagonist, and weapons have durability points (they can break) and you can gather materials each day to make new stuff like food~
Kinda odd at times, though - a random encounter with three foes just... dying? Huh?
-
Has nobody played The Bouncer? You have 3 main characters and at various points, you can choose which character to play as, which shows their side of the story. It's a short game, but it's got quite the replay value. Going through the Story Mode for all 3 character stories is worth it because the game is short.
And after that, you've got Survival Mode, where you can play not just as the main characters but also as the game's bosses (which yes, you can play as Mugestu and his maskless self or all 4 versions of Dauragon C Mikado).

I have a question.
Is Little Fighter 2 any good?

Thread renamed to "Game Recommendation Thread", if nobody objects.
I'd like to recommend "Standstill Girl" (last I checked, it's freeware).
It's an RPG, and... I still haven't gotten very far with it. XD
Oh yeah, there's three unlockables, I think, which require a password.
-
If we're recommending games now, I'd like to recommend the Legend of Dark Witch series. It's basically MegaMan with the weapon system of Gradius with an all-female cast. The reason I gave the first game a try was because of the music and I'm glad I did. The sequels are even better than the first game (the boss fights being a major improvement).

"gruesome tickling of the admin"
Not a sight I can un-imagine...
Recommending Dwarf Fortress if you are a sadist who enjoys watching nobles suffer"unfortunate accidents" like games where lots of things can happen resulting in funny stuff... freeware, too...
Could anyone recommend seven (min.) good games for PC, GB(C/A), (S)NES, and/or NDS...?

Metroid Fusion (GBA)
MegaMan Star Force 1/3 (NDS)
Kirby Super Star Ultra (NDS)
Digimon World Dawn/Dusk (NDS)

... All games we have available to emulate, so that is good to know... :-b
Recommending the platformer game SuperTux if you like penguins, platformers, and being able to make your own levels...
Just avoid Cibryll's levels (if they ever got posted one day)... because they get crazier than you would think... :-b
(Cibryll shouting "Hey!" audible, but with a smile on her face...)
...
(Still shivers from that one line involving "gruesome tickling of the admin"...)
...
We need more power-ups...

I'm playing through Everhood at the moment and it's completely blown my socks off so far. It seems to be heavily inspired by Undertale and Yume Nikki, but still succeeds in becoming its own thing entirely. Highly recommend ^w^

The game I'm currently playing is Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road which as an RPG is actually really good. Sure, the game does require a bit of backtracking and it can be quite difficult at times but I've enjoyed it nontheless. If you're looking for some obscure DS RPGs, I'd recommend this one.
