@Kim started this game at the Vresun forums, so… I guess I'm just exporting it here or something? :P
So, anyway. Here's how this forum game works:
A member posts a screenshot, or part of a screenshot, from a video game that he/she has played before. Members have to guess what it is. If the answer is correct, then the first person who guessed correctly will have a turn to post a screenshot, which other members then have to guess, and so on.
The screenshot must not contain the game's name or the title bar (that thing with the "minimize" and "maximize" and "close" buttons at the top-right corner). If it's a game that has two versions (such as Pokémon), then either version will be correct if the area appears in the same game(s). Screenshots must not be from cutscenes.
When asked, the screenshot poster is allowed to give one hint, up to a maximum of three. Below the screenshot, a "hints remaining" counter must also be posted, to keep track of how many hints are left. The screenshot poster must wait exactly 24 hours after posting the screenshot before they can say if someone is correct or incorrect. (Both are enforced.)
If a week has gone by since the first screenshot was posted, a second one will be allowed. If, after another week, the game still hasn't been guessed, then the screenshot poster is to say that game's name and pick a different game (thus, it would still be their turn).
You must not use Google Images or any other search engines to find out which game the screenshot came from.
If the current screenshot poster hasn't posted a screenshot in a month's time, then their turn is skipped and a random forum member (who has posted in this thread) will be selected.
I will be posting an example, here:
- Shane posts a screenshot of a platformer video game that he has played. Alexis guesses La-Mulana (8-bit version). Kim guesses the La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter demo. Ellen guesses Cave Story. The screenshot that Shane had posted was from Cave Story, so it is now Ellen's turn.
- Ellen posts a screenshot of an action RPG. Pteriforever guesses Kingdom Hearts I. Raus guesses Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time. The screenshot Ellen had posted was from Kingdom Hearts I, so it is Pteriforever's turn.
- And so on.
Right, so let this forum game begin for real!

So, there's a pic now. It's from a video game. Also the first post was horribly mangled (everything linked to Kim's profile, instead of just her name :o ).

Shane. Not to offence but this is kind of a cheap move. I understand the "part of a screenshot" thing, but trying to guess a game by the generic face of anime character will result in discouragement :-\ . The only one to actually guess it right is a super fan of the game. And I bet his face is from a cutscene. Not trying to make you sad or something but that is no fun. And a game must be fun. :)
And if I would guess, I would guess Final Fantasy Tactics, just because it's the first thing that came to mind.

The only one to actually guess it right is a super fan of the game. And I bet his face is from a cutscene. Not trying to make you sad or something but that is no fun. And a game must be fun. :)

I kinda had no idea how to phrase it when I made this thread, though ^^;
Now, though, I guess that ought to be "screenshots must not be from cutscenes".
