Those old games (like NES and so on)

Talk about games released, like, years ago. NES, SNES, Gameboy, MS-DOS...

Yep, a thread for good old games, right? :P

I don't like Toma in Eternal Filena (SNES).

I also couldn't clear one of the Legend of Zelda dungeons (A Link to the Past; the ice dungeon, I think?).

And Live A Live, caveman story.

Of course, I'll be unlikely to finish those, but at least I tried.

Right?

And Tecmo Secret of the Stars is also kinda grim. Neither Metal Gear nor Crystalis (for the NES) interest me.

But the Adventure Island games do. The music of the fourth NES title is catchy. LS' reservoir area uses a song from the crystal stage.

I've only played it on New Nintendo 3DS, but yeah, Earthbound is great. It's a shame that MOTHER 3 still hasn't made it to the West yet (and there's always the worry of censorship.)

So, Earthbound Zero existed as Mother 1, and Earthbound is really Mother 2... do I have this right or...?

Actually, the official release of MOTHER to the west is called Earthbound Beginnings. But yeah, MOTHER 2 was called Earthbound in the West, so you're technically correct.

How the Heckran did I remember "Earthbound Zero"?

Unless it was just a working title until they decided on "Earthbound Beginnings"?

Well, old games can still be good. :9

Earthbound Zero was a name of a fan translation. I'm not sure why Earthbound Beginnings, but at least it came to the West at all.

Indeed.
There's a few good games that deserve official translations, for the (S)NES...
Frankly, I kinda wanna see remakes of some of these old games.
With new stuff. Like a new bonus boss or weapon or area...

Maybe even a crossover of some kind.

"Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon - Another Story".

First time I ever saw anything Sailor Moon-related. It's an RPG, I believe, but by no means a piece of cake.
... Those who cannot let go of the past are doomed to repeat it...

I'm lurking, but I won't post.
Unless it's an emergency, or Pokémon-related.

Who cares.

... Oh, a platypus.

I'm not even going to ask what "Sailor Moon" is.

But. Why does Breath of Fire I and II botj have a winged girl named Nina?

It's a magical girl anime. Nothing perverse, despite what Ellen would allow you to assume. Honestly, I think Madoka Magica is far better.

I don't know. I've haven't even played them yet. Continuity?

Thanks to King, I could finally clear the Ice Palace in "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past". :))

But now, I'm having trouble with entering... THE SWAMP OF EVIL.
(1/2 above magic meter, 16 hearts, 15 max bombs, 30 max arrows, LV3 Master Sword, only two items missing between Magic Cape and the bottles.)

It's progress, at least~.

Getting to the Swamp of Evil requires you to obtain the Flute.

Getting the flute requires you to use the Shovel you obtained in the Dark World clearing and return to that area's Light World version. Then you dig up the Flute in the Northwest corner and return to the Dark World to offer it to the Flute Player. He'll let you keep it and you can go to Kakariko Village and play it near the Weathervane, transforming it. After all that, simply return to the Desert of Mystery where you'll be warped near a warp point that takes you to the Swamp of Evil.
